I love listening to these great stories written by well travelled, observant and insightful authors. I am nearly eighty years of age and have always been a slow reader . Now, at last, I am able to catch up on a little of the literature I would have loved when I was much younger. I disliked immensely the AI uploads when I first encountered them whilst searching for old BBC radio plays. I must say the quality of those plays is pretty ropy and the genre is limited. Times have changed. I love J B Priestly stories, Somerset Maugham's and many others and I have persevered with listening to these wonderful "neuralsurfer" uploads. These great uploads are improving all the time and so is my ability to hear what the author is saying rather than worrying about it being AI. Think what a boon these are to the many people with poor eyesight as well as we slow readers. Perhaps we subvocalisers finally have an some kind of advantage. Thank you "neuralsurfer" please keep them coming, as fast as you like.

It's too long since the last time I read Ashenden, I forgot all about this story. It's a nice comedic break from the rest of the book, the kind of humor you find in Oscar Wilde's plays and Saki's short stories.
