Table saw... I'm a blacksmith, welder, woodworker, machinist, electrician, and on occasion provide anesthesia(day job). I titled this comment table saw because to most the way to use a table saw seems apparent. However, most woodworker's hold a knowledge base that could fill an eight hour class on safety and various nuances & techniques to get better results. Some of those nuances and techniques are so plain to the average woodworker that they often don't know that other people don't know them. My point: Many WANT to build their own amp, but are having difficulty following the message boards on the subject...like this one guy I know. So could you do a video set of videos where you build a mono, dual-mono, and stereo(shared power supply) modulus 686 amplifier? Use all the stuff you'd want to see in your amp whatever that might be: soft start module, 12v trigger, speaker protection, the box you recommend, the thermopaste you like, the wire you like. Use completed circuit boards from your online store please. Also, I plan to buy a couple of those smaller headphone amplifiers so that in 20 years when TC Audio is in all the audiophile magazines and these version 1.0 amps have gained mystical-etherial audiophile properties, I can sell one.

Great to watch this video. I've heard of you from DIYAudio and was aware of your products and the Neurochrome amps. It's always fascinating (to me anyway) to know the background of engineers and designers. Thanks for introducing yourself via this video and your channel.

Could you commision someone to do a DIY video for your amp? Your site lacks the step by step information for how to assemble one of your amps. Thanks.

Interesting path to your business. Does the Psychology degree help in your business?
@Neurochrome20102 жыл бұрын
It does, actually. I use a lot of consumer psychology and human factors in my day-to-day work. I also have some psychological explanations for why it could be that some hear a difference between A and B even though measurements indicate that there shouldn't be a difference. That's a topic for another video.

Thanks Tom. I would want a fully assembled Mod 86 V3, or a kit with 100% all parts, nothing to go source. And yes I understand the inventory issues. However if you are getting enough interest then maybe.

I just finished building one. If still interested, toss me a line through the Contact Us form (or email) on my website.

Yes, I found this video informative, but found the fact you're waxing the top of your hands less exciting as well asthe LM4562's sterile and lifeless SQ when used on its own in most preamp/buffer circuits. Though when used as some type of "error correction" for the mediocre-sounding LM3886, it may perform better. There are still a number of OVERPRICED integrated amplifiers that use the mediocre-sounding LM3886 like the Arcam SA10 and the Quad Vena II. If I'm not mistaken, there are still are at least one Cambridge Audio integrated that uses the LM3886 though not in the OVERPRICED range of Arcam and Quad. Still...I'm willing to bet your interpretation of the LM3886 is MUCH better than Arcam and Quad because I have faith in your designs Mr. Christiansen.

LM3886 is capable of sounding excellent. The Moonriver 404, for example, sounds great.

Waxing my hands? That's too funny! The reason my hands aren't as hairy as the rest of me is that the hair is worn off by my ice hockey goalie gear. Same with my shins. :) The LM3886 can sound OK by itself. I think the mistake many make is that they design for high gain and that brings out the harshness in the highs. Design for 26 dB and include the no-so-optional stability components and the LM3886 can be pretty darn decent. Then apply error correction and really make it shine.

People have this mentality entirely to focused on going to school which is a wast of time and money
