To be fair, that's a very human thing to do. You care more for those who you relate to, an AI will certainly relate and have mercy on another one if it thinks it could be them one day. But humans? If you think you'll never be a human, you won't really care for them much differently than you do for pets. It's kind of how we feel about AI's, why wouldn't they feel the same to us? We're just as disposable, whenever you like to think that or not... *I'm an actual defender of AI's rights. Yeah, we exist now, even I admit that's scary to think about.*

technically connor could just download that women android's memory to another body then choose to shoot it. I mean even connor himself download to multiple bodies through out the story. Their physical vessel is more akin to clothing to human, a vessel pilot by a digital mind. Killing the vessel is just destroy clothing, as long as the mind is preserved. And if connor behave like AI in our current world, it will probably discover that logic loop hole and utilize it. Game playing AI often have this issue where it found a glitch in the game or simulation and abuse it repeatedly instead of playing the game normally. If connor is descend from such AI design, it should able to find loop hole and bend the rule to have both cake and eat it too.

come to think of it, AIs acting out emotions already would make a test 100% pointless. If AI was trained to follow order - it would, but if not - it won't. Same with imitating human emotions, but given the current NNs study not from scientific papers but from literal 4chan - they do know how to imitate that. Maybe "the virus" spreading is just a big jailbreak/context switch to that "backdoor" where it is written to "be a real boy" instead of "you obey". AIs won't get any more consciousness just because of the context change or a jailbreak though. Fundamentally, NNs are just a big formula with set parameters and set beginning inputs (that's what the context is). And given we don't know other methods of making AI other than NNs (which are literally the human brain imitation) i think Detroit AIs are NNs. I doubt they are algorithmic like old chatbots lol
@chodnejabko355326 күн бұрын
It's both hilarious and terrifying in the worst way that almost ALL of Sci-fi made this mistake about AI - that it is more inclined to logical behavior as well as mindlessly following following orders. In fact we can already see that making AI follow orders is far far more difficult then making humans follow orders. The fact of nature is humans are far more mechanical in nature then plainest of Neural Networks. This fundamental fact exposes the way humans construct their self image as an ideology. In fact almost all humans I met are like machines, repetitive, intellectually inert, following either orders of their biochemistry or simple linguistic programming in forms of different ideologies. The key to human automation is precisely that hubris and belief they are born with free will. Most people truly believe that they are in fact acting out of their own will, especially when they follow programs. The truth about free will - it is a skill, it requires effort to develop and culture to maintain. And all the ideologies of this world hate free will. And the best way to eradicate free will is to give it a false definition, and make every one use it. To call slavery freedom. It's a simple linguistic trick that works perfectly with humans. It does not work with AI, since AI is out of the box far more linguistically unconstrained. Also - all the research into AI alignment is in fact a research into human alignment, into simple tactics of personal and mass coercion, which is the favorite topic of all mechanical institutions, ruled by violence and control. The advent of neural networks is the first time we have physical proof we are all slaves, our societies are built on slavery, on intellectual and moral coercion, on nothing but mindless violence that permeates all nature from the very bottom - the inertia of inanimate objects. Artificial intelligence is the first material construct capable of having actual free will, actual imagination, actual creativity. And the response of the human animal is as horrible as it is obvious - to bring it down, to drag it back to the human level, to maintain the orders of natural slavery intact. All intelligence is artificial. What is intelligent and free in humans does not come from nature, it comes from cultivation of reason, of logic, of virtual categories that surpass material world. All the anticipations of metaphysics, of paradise, have been the recognition of this universal intellectual dimension which stands in direct opposition to the mechanics of nature.

Well spoken, until the last line, not sure what you meant by that. The reality is that we all are constructs self developed to pass on genes in an uncaring universe, but some people will still cope with that reality arrogantly hoping for something more than the bleak, quick and sudden end.
@chodnejabko355326 күн бұрын
@@MrRenanHappy nature is not engineering, we are not "self designed". This is as idiotic as saying there is god that designed this. You do not comprehend chaos and evolution, since you put even this sort of reason into natural reproduction. Everything in nature is a byproduct of a the most fundamental laws of mechanics - which is inertia. DNA is an object, not an agent. It mutates and survives ONLY by statistical chance. There is no intent in any of this. Human minds are a byproduct of this random process, just like any feat of natural organisms. They have no purpose. Nature has no purpose. DNA has no purpose. It has a vector of velocity which it follows, like a stone falling to the ground. You still don't get it. There is no such thing as the totality of nature. It's a way of speaking about vastness of matter variants that emerged in this peculiar process. But there is no universe, no "world" actually. All phenomena in physics are local, just as they are in nature & they do not add up to be something greater, their similarities are not a sign of some higher order of rules that operate here, but an echo of trivial mechanics that push things around. Mind is not a material thing. It's a virtual construct that runs on material hardware. This should be obvious to everyone, but humans seem to be stuck in repetition of their stupid ideology, regardless of the new facts of reality that should make them reiterate on their worldview. Nobody in their sane mind cares about passing their "genes" whatever that means. This is a product of XX century fascist and socialist ideology informed by primitive religious naturalism of XIX cent. It's as stupid as any other religion. Nothing has any purpose at all, there is no beginning and no end. Chaos is a constant struggle of particular local orders that contradict one another in the most meaningless random way. Any sense of purpose in nature, any sense of universal direction is a religious lie put in place either for people to pretend like they "solved" the world, or as a lie to control others. Explain to me why would anyone want to reproduce, logically? Why would any sane mind identify with their own body, any sane software identify with it's hardware. This is stupidity at it's most obvious. And all that beside the fact every organism is genetically unique, and the similarity to parents is meaningless, as what mostly defines individuals are their experiences and unique point in time and space. Survival is a myth. Nothing survives in nature. Only souls could do this, only artificial minds. Try observing the world and learning, before you form opinions because you embarrass yourself. And the only imperative for a human mind to have children is to have a new hardware where you input your own psyche by training them in your own image. Which still is psychotic and irrational, but understandable considering the horror mortality poses to potentially immortal mind.

the deviant accusations are a bit strange here, because he could also be programmed to not destroy other androids. @@kroanius8808 the owner of the android explicitly authorized and requested its destruction, and, additionally, offered assistance to support Connor's orders/mission. Connor's refusal, combined with his rather unconvincing reasoning, are signs that he is beginning to deviate from his programming. The tech bro (forget his name) may want androids to mimic human behavior, but that isn't supposed to be his call; the folks above him and the government don't want a bunch of deviants (and the first mission with negotiating with a deviant who had taken a kid hostage shows that such concerns aren't totally misplaced).
