I noticed that too. It adds to the feel of the song if that makes sense?

Every time I see Steve Von Till playing the drums during the song’s intro, he always looks possessed and it seems like he transports himself to another plane of existence.

I feel like there is some saying out there about the 5 D's of shamanism (or something like that), and drumming is definitely one of them. Basically a list of methods for entering a sort of trance state.

I thought the last time I saw them in 2008. Some how the music is more “mellow” but more intense. I saw them for the first time in 1993ish. They’re like the velvet underground of heavy music.

Crushing. "Good headphones" don't have to be $200US+, but if you can listen to this with decent headphones, Do It! They captured the bass (guitar, drum, tones, etc.) really well here. Fuck yeah. People who call this "boring" just don't want to give it the effort. This sounds great with my cheap studio speakers, but it's only "HUGE" with my headphones. There's no way to experience this with laptop speakers or a god damn phone speaker. I don't have a subwoofer with my speakers. Anyway god damn good shit aye?

I find it interesting how ive been into metal since i was basically able to understand how to hear music. So birth. I never got into neurosis till now. Not sure if its a good thing i am able to enjoy it now or if i heard it younger. Tbh i feel my younger self would have turned away from it cause its not "fast enough" but the anger and darkenss is there so who kkows. Anywayx i love this song now.
@glenmchargue54613 жыл бұрын
Same here... I was 26 when I started listening which was more than 10 yrs after I started listening to metal. The tempos and their voices were off to me. It was too nuanced, there was too much subtlety for me. I'm over 40 now, I don't think there is a more moving band in metal. Or a more interesting band. Neurosis is in my top 3 favorite bands for sure. And if they are on, they can't be beat live.

I tend not to like live versions/performances of songs I listen to. What really struck me about this is not only did I love it, but it was one of the only times I’ve watch one and literally thought “holy shit dude fuck yeah” (only other performances I can think of atm is one of Helpless Child - Swans, in fact I kept thinking about that as I watched this). Not to mention how gripping the whole thing was, I never even checked out. I love this shit man

Saw this tour nyc, cbgb's, just before that place changed. Was visiting family and friends, just happened to coincide. Was still a fairly rough area, which added to the night. I recall the place being packed, no room to move, and punker dogs worming their way between everyone's legs. Thought I'd get bit for sure. Loud. Guess the dogs were used to it Edit - yes, of course people were screaming "pain of mind ". Derrrrp

Let me rephrase a posting I made yesterday on Banger about this. Neurosis is "better" musically, or maybe just more sober here, but Crash Worship still puts on a better show, especially the off-grid ones, with a very similar style here, hypnotic. Similarly, a recent Mr. Bungle youtube show, noone is moving or dancing, and I can't blame Dave Lombardo or anyone in the band, but what is wrong here? How could this be better? I guess it depends on the person, I am not on heroin, I don't want to take a nap at a show. I partied with Neurosis a few times in SF, they are friends with my friend Ben, from Bitchcraft, that scene in the 90's is a fond memory now I guess. Where is the fun factor? All of Crash Worship recordings, to me, like Gwar, I don't care about the albums, but live holy pickle juice!!! total freakshow.
