@@KrystleColeArt Do you have recommendations for those us just starting out printing our art? Right now, I am using a company that I tested to drop ship to customers. But, it looks like Faire and other sites are only good if you already have a defined art to print business.

I have gone through 3 P900's. One died a month after the warranty so I had to buy a new one. Then that one died after 6 months of use and they sent me a refurbished P900 and that one died after only 2 months. All 3 had the same problem. The ink would take forever to cycle when replacing then it would completely fill the maintenance cartage. I hope you have better luck with it.
@KrystleColeArt5 ай бұрын
Wow, that's some serious problems! That's why I definitely think the P800 is better but they no longer make it, so as I said in the video if you're looking for a current one on the market, unfortunately P900 is still the best option. Unless you found a different better printer?

I am curious why you can't order ink for the P800. I also have a P800 and just received by order of replacement ink cartridges from B&H Photo.

They have it back in stock now, but from April through June this summer, there was no ink to be found in several of the colors. They had discontinued them. But since then they have found a new vendor to produce them. So now there’s no problem getting ink for this model of printer.

I'm still using my Epson Stylus Pro 3880 but have found that the color is off and thought an upgrade would help. Any thoughts on why this would be? I feel like i'm using the correct ICC profiles for my PC. But it could be the printer as well since it's over 10 years old.
@KrystleColeArt2 күн бұрын
I used to have a 3880, loved that printer until it ran out of a life of one of the parts in it. So I had to replace it with a new one. But if yours is still going, and it’s just the color, have you checked the expiration dates on your cartridges? If they’re very expired, like years after the expiration, the colors can change a little. This might be an issue, otherwise are you using all Epson inks? Because if you’re not using Epsons that could also be an issue.
@ronzo22622 күн бұрын
@@KrystleColeArt Thanks so much for replying and your suggestion. Yes, I actually do have a backlog of inks (some from 2016!). I didn't think that would change the color of the ink inside them. Guess it would be cheaper to replace all the colors before buying a whole new printer.

Have you seen the Canon image prograf Pro 1000 A2 photo printer & the Brand new replacement model the Canon Pro 1100? They both have 12 colour inks, price £1050 & £1100 respectively 😊

I haven't tried them, but I've heard from another artist that there experience was that they had to let the prints dry for a longer time than the epson p900/p800.

а я купил Canon TC-20 - отлично печатает фотографии и картины на бумаге. Рулоны до 11 см не так удобно, т.к. часто они чуть большего диаметра. Холсты не с первого раза, он больше для бумаги..

You say in the video that you are looking for a new printer because you are having problems finding ink for your P800. Why would you recommend the P800 if there are issues getting ink? Wouldn’t the newer P900 be a better choice long term? Just wanting to understand your thought process.
@KrystleColeArt4 ай бұрын
Did you not watch the end of my video? Because I did say pretty much exactly that, the P800 is a better machine, but the P900 would be the best of the two because of the fact that it’s newer and you can definitely get ink. that said, you can now get ink for the P800 and it really is a better machine. like I said in the video, they’re also risks with buying a used machine. A new one has a warranty from the manufacturer, which is clearly a benefit.
@wayneconard26854 ай бұрын
Thank you. I did watch the entire video. The fact that you can get ink for the 800 makes it a better alternative. One more question since you’ve used both machines - does the updated technology on the 900 make a difference compared to the older generation technology on the 800? I’ve read the reviews for both on the website you recommended, Red River, but I can’t really tell how much difference the newer technology actually makes. Thanks again for responding. Very helpful.

Hello Krystal, thanks for such valuable information.❤ I am looking for big size printer ( between 24" to 36", also should print on sheet as well as on roll) The running cost should not be too much. I looking into Epson because here Epson ink is available easily in compare to canon. My aim is to print art on canvas, matt, satin and luster. paper. Please suggest me some Epson printer. Thanks 🙏

I love my Epson P6000, I have the 24 inch wide one. The colors are amazing. Fits in my studio well. It does come in a larger size. Ink is very affordable when it comes to pigment based ink printers, the quality of the prints are the best you can get on the market. I've had this printer for about five years and it's still going strong. I would recommend it to anyone.

Hi thanks for the awesome info! I'm looking to get a printer for art prints and for printing cover for book binding. I have a question, how many pages on average would you get from a set of new ink cartridges? and have you ever printed on cardstock or 300 gsm paper before? Thanks!
@KrystleColeArt3 ай бұрын
It's hard to determine how many pages I would print, because inks run out at different times based on what colors you're printing. And depending on the printer I discussed in the video, there are either eight cartridges or nine. It's better to look at the cost numbers per page of printing, and calculate what your cost would be from there. Their links in the description to that info. I have printed with both card stock and very thick papers. Watching this video might be helpful kzbin.info/www/bejne/roC8hmajp6aKjK8

Hi Krystle, I want to print out line drawings onto mixed media paper to sell at art fairs here in the UK, for my customers to color in as coloring pages. The ink needs to be waterproof and not smudge, if someone uses watercolor. What type of printer would you recommend ?. I have been told that laser printers might work. Many thanks, from Alan here in the UK.
@KrystleColeArt4 ай бұрын
I think the P900 would do it, the pigment based ink from Epson does not smudge if it gets wet. It does depend on the type of paper you use. I would use a mat paper if you’re having them color the pages. you might contact Epson and ask them if there is a lower grade printer that would also work since you are only printing in black-and-white. Their sales reps would know what ink would not smudge. and that might save you some money.

I HAVE SEEN SO MANY BAD REVIEWS ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH THE SC P 900. IS IT STILL WORKING FOR YOU?
@KrystleColeArt18 күн бұрын
It is still working, in fact, I figured out one hack about the sheet feeder problems. If I don't load more than seven pieces of paper at a time, usually it operates without any problems. It's when I add more paper to it at once it will start messing up. Still annoying because I would like to load more paper, but it does print beautifully.

I like Epson print quality but the last one I had was a disaster. I can't remember the model number but it stopped working after a couple hundred prints. I print primarily 8x10 or Letter size. They also are way more finicky with 3rd party ink than Canon. Do one of the many firmware updates they push and it will stop accepting your ink. I wish other manufacturers would get into the reasonable priced home photo printers. Brother where for art thou?
@jamiletorres4007 күн бұрын
I don’t understand if you really like the 800 why you got the 900 again🤔
@KrystleColeArt7 күн бұрын
They sent me another P900 on warranty, I had no choice but to get another one. I could not get a refund, only an exchange. Still, after having it for a while, it’s not a bad printer. You just have to put a lot less paper in it than you do in the P800 so you don’t get paper jams.
No it isn’t, the ink cartridges hold half as much ink as the P800/900 but are similar price. So per ml it is more expensive. Also red rivers test showed the P700 ink was more expensive, links to that in description 🎨
