@NeuroSoupКүн бұрын
It should not cost that much. Sometimes on Amazon the sellers raise their prices, I would just search on there for the size that you need. There’s probably another seller that will offer it. It should be around $50 or $60 for 50 sheets.

Man, I need to go to more art fairs. The only ones I go to are the First Fridays in KCMO. I was introduced to you and your work via the Vice documentary with Hamilton Morris. Now I love seeing your art coming out of this "spiritual black hole" we call the midwest 😂

There are so many good art fairs in Kansas City! If you're trying to sell your work at them, I'd check out Santacaligon or Westport Art fair. There's also the Plaza art fair and Brookside art annual, but they're hard to get into.

@@NeuroSoup I don't actually sell art, but the broader strokes of your advice are insightful for anyone trying to sell anything they've made or collected as well, which I do from time to time. Hell, you could use this as a training video for a yard sale on yard sale day. I will definitely look into those events though, I think they'd be great date ideas, so thank you 💚 hopefully I'll see you some day. ✌️

Wait a minute; How did the corner dots get on the backside of the canvas?
@NeuroSoup4 күн бұрын
I'm assuming you're asking about the dots I applied with sharpie to the blank side of the canvas. Rewatch the video, you will see exactly how I added them! Better than I can explain in text. But I use the holes I poked through the canvas and colored in the other side with the sharpie to use as a guide to know where to mount the stretchers :)

Hello! Love your videos 😄I have a few questions. After mixing the heavy gel gloss with the acrylic paint, will the original color change? Also, how does the finished/dries paint look like?
@NeuroSoup4 күн бұрын
The original color does not change unless you thin it out too much. If you do a 50-50, mixture it should be fine. The only thing that will happen if you add too much medium is that it will become translucent. if you're worried about that do 25% medium, 75% paint and you'll definitely be good. The dried paint will have a glossy finish if you use heavy gloss gel medium.

I’m not sure what exact size you’re calculating, but the stretcher bars should not cost that much. if you look on the breathing color website, you can see that you have to order about 10 at a time, but the prices are around $10-15 each.

I think if you watch my cheap art fair booth video, it might be helpful to you. It goes more in depth in the mesh panel walls. But essentially most art tents are 10 x 10, so that’s the length of the walls. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6GWgKSjZd9qq9ksi=zZZxX6dgsMDXlO4y

this is an amazing painting! Thanks for your hard work. Q: when you look at the color wheel and said, we can use the initial color blue with the color on the same said(green, purple) and a little bit of opposit color like(yellow, red...). But the final painting turns out to be the blue side and yellow side is 50:50 which is also beautiful. I am a little confused. I always have troubles on choosing the right color compositions, but it seems that if we use high saturated blue, we need to use low saturate yellow(very light) together?Thanks
@NeuroSoup10 күн бұрын
Yes, my initial thoughts for the colors and then how it turned out were a little different, but that is how abstract paintings evolve. That's one of the beautiful things about them I think, is that you feel in the flow as you are painting and things come about in the creative process. As for using a high saturated blue and then having to use a low saturated yellow, I don't think that's necessarily the case. It just depends on what your goals with the painting are. I have found that sometimes if you use all saturated colors it's a bit too much, but that also depends on the type of painting. For abstracts it seems like customers prefer more muted colors with pops of saturation. But with my animal painting, for example, people want all saturated colors. Everything saturated everywhere. The more saturation, the better honestly. It depends on the subject and style you are painting.

The thing I find when I try different apps is that I keep wanting to just stick with KZbin and my own online shop when I get to set up on either Squarespace or Shopify. The quality of interaction is best on KZbin for me. I like the conversations I have with people. On sites the conversations consist of, tick like, "nice work", "thanks". It doesn't feel like quality interactions. I might stick with KZbin and perhaps start using Pinterest as it can be good I hear for selling work. I may dip my toe into other ones, but I won't focus on them. I am on Cara though, so we'll see. I think it's a good idea to claim your user name on there for now anyway.

Any more tips on just how to get the camera perfectly paralleled and square? I feel like no matter how many adjustments I make and how square I thunk it is, when I go to edit the image it ends up skewed because when I go to crop the image it’s off.
@NeuroSoup13 күн бұрын
For my experience, getting the phone to Square up is really touchy. What I like to do is try to make sure the canvas is parallel with the edges of the phone. it’s a lot of small adjustments. But you want the area around the canvas to be even when you’re looking at it on the phone screen so you don’t want the vertical border to be thinner in one area than the other when looking at it is that in case it is not squared up. If that makes sense.

This was a generous video. Very interesting. It would be cool to practice more abstract mark marking, forms, patterns etc to use as a background and interest in places. I personally tend to like the contrast of more abstract parts, and some areas of realism. I liked what you were saying about the graphic element, where it can grab the viewers attention from a distance etc. Your colours always look great.

I assume any public image I post has been or will be scrapped by AI and If not by meta - then others. I have the same thoughts on Cara - artists buying from artists are not a huge market and I only have so much time in my day.

I do the same thing! I think showing how something is made is the easiest way to tell customers that it is not created by AI. I mean, if they can see you actually painting it or drawing it they know that human is making it. AI can't fake that, at least yet! :)
@NeuroSoup15 күн бұрын
What do you all think about Meta scraping our images that we post on Instagram and using them to enhance their AI image generator? Love to hear your thoughts, when I heard this, I was not too happy, but I also feel like I need to post on their platforms to sell art so there's not much choice but to deal with it. I suppose artists could use Glaze, prior to posting image online... have any of you used Glaze? It's supposed to help protect your images from generative AI.

It's inevitable, like ads, micropayents, planned obsolescence. If you use their platforms, or Items they are the rug pullers and the gate keepers. America need abetter consumer and creator protections.

The positive thing is it will force artists to evolve. The bad part is many artists put tens of thousands of hours over a career or schooling and then just get yoinked by an algorithm. To be honest in the past foreign countries just stole stuff without changing it, slapping it on clocks and mugs and no one's suing anyone internationally..
