I really loved this episode! At the moment, I am applying to study a master's degree in Neuroscience in the Netherlands, so I really related to the fact that there is a lack of female neuroscientists in our society (in Mexico is even worst) It is very important to highlight this issue and change it! Thank you for adressing this problem so well and present us these incredible female neuroscientists. 💜

Loved this video! Wanted to highlight some of my heroes from Neuroethology who often get ignored bcause they don’t work on popular model systems: Allison Doupe, Eve Marder, Lauren O’Connel, Paloma Gonzalez and Cynthia Moss 😁🔬🐧🦞🐸🦟🦇

This episode is amazing. I'm doing my PhD in linguistics with a special focus on neurolinguistics and I didn't know the achievements of these women. Thank you so much!!!

I wonder if the effects of oxytocin that were observed with the mice were tested with specifically virgin mice or just nulliparous mice. Did they test both? Sex also releases oxytocin, so it would be interesting to see if the same maternal instincts kick in with nulliparous non-virgins. 🤔

13:47 We have correlation, but that's not necessarily causative. It could be due to upbringing.

Very interesting and very cool! If there's money involved in the organization I suggest registering as a 501c3.
