Did you have to adjust the idle speed? And if so was it pretty easy to fine tune it ?Im thinking mine is out of adjustment and would like to see how its done on that throttle body.Thanks again for putting out some mk1 stuff!

@@DB19736 Yes, when I first installed it the idle was too high so I had to tighten the idel adjustment screw to lower it back down to around 900 RPM.

The replacement throttle body is larger. The simple (and most effective) approach is to modify the hole on the intake manifold to match the increased diameter of the upgraded throttle body. Neuspeed made this adapter allowing you to mount the larger throttle body without modifying the intake manifold. The spacer is to allow for a transition from the larger bore to the smaller stock bore.

They don't make it anymore so you have to try to fund a used one wither on a forum or eBay. You could source a Mk2 throttle body, and swap over your Mk1 linkages. It's not hard, but takes a little time to do. You could source an Audi 5000 throttle body, or one from a Digifant II VW Fox (don't use a CIS Fox TB). These both have the correct directon of pull for the Mk1 throttle cable. You might need to swap one piece of your existing Mk1 linkage onto it, but it's obvious once you see it. You also may need to mess with the vacuum and Idle hoses, as these sometimes have more or less nipples than your Mk1 TB.
