Excellent vidio...nice and clear on how to do the covering. Filming was also excellent with the use of a background that allowed you to easily see what was happening. I now know how to cover my EPP foam plane without having to use heavy paints or tape. Thank you ! Carl

Im just gwtting into the Hobby.....Ive got a Timber and have 7 successful flights on her. Ive been thinking of a way to make the aircraft stronger and here it is...thanks for the info Sir. My question is to you fellas is this....is it worth doing on the Timber and is covering it going to affect the performance of the aircraft?

Hi, I wouldn't cover purchased plane if they are still in one piece 😀 , I cover only my depron scratch built ones.

Do you remove the paper backing from the foam? Or does the paper have too be on the foam to install the covering?
@neutrno4 жыл бұрын
The foam I have used didn't have paper, it was depron board.

Thanks I was curious about laminating vs. using packing tape. I can never seem to make the tape flawlessly smooth like Ed at experimental airlines does.
@neutrno6 жыл бұрын
Jim Goodwin this is much better than the packing tape, I have covered several depron planes like that and they stiil fly.

Quality, your using a domestic iron ha ha. I have a laminating iron on order but I can't wait for it to arrive so I will be experimenting with my clothes iron too on a balsa build I have :)

Čovječe, gdje ti pronalaziš depron? Ja sam bio našao samo ono zeleno za pod, što mi i nije baš nešto.

Hvala na informaciji. Otprilike, koliko košta jedno pakiranje i dali šalju poštom?
@neutrno7 жыл бұрын

Nice Shumate F-22! I've been using low temp covering on foamboard planes for a few years now and it works great. You will get a few more wrinkles over compound surfaces than you will with Balsa (because you can't crank the heat) but it looks nice, adds strength, holds up great to the elements, and saves weight in some cases. Last foam build was finished this way and it came out pretty clean: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqjTmqiPpdicn5o Nice tutorial!
