Actually, this was literally slapped together because of the unexpected event that several Target employees doing inventory and making a lot of noise in the next aisle so the "B Roll" was repetitive to fill in the time that was going to be for when I was going to walk down the aisle talking about the products. In that very short "outing", I learned how much outside factors can influence the video. I am totally new to this and obviously need A LOT of work but I am willing to take risks and make mistakes. ; )

Hey Christy, on your walk through comparing skin care products, I'd love it if you included "in store" brands. Many of these are actually better formulated and most all of them are cheaper which for those of us on a budget is important. Also maybe compare various baby care products to adult products. Often THEY have a better formulation that is safer for a larger range of skin types and are often cheaper as well. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the work you are doing in your skin care series. It's the most complete and informative video series I've found on youtube. Hands down your site tops them all and I want you to know that those of us trying to "learn chemistry" in order to find good, science based skin care, really appreciate your efforts. :)

HI Caroline, thank you for your feedback. I can't promise that I will just do videos on in store products because I have sooooo many requests for soooo many different topics. When I keep seeing the same type of requests then I will consider it. This is only because when I look at an ingredients list on some drugstore brands, they are so poor that I don't want to "badmouth" products or companies. This is why I try to educate viewers by saying to look at your own products ingredients and if the first third of ingredients are made with fillers, then it probably is not worth the money. I did the Neugrogena Hydro boost because so many requests kept coming in and people wanted to know if the HA in it was worth the hype. I can do some baby products if you can give me specific brands or products ; ) Thank you again, Caroline for watching! ; )

So kind of late to the game on this video, but my favorite hyaluronic acid products are all from Japanese skin care lines (just a coincidence). Wow, had no idea about hydroboost. I tried it a few years ago. It DID feel very nice at first, like you mentioned the reason why for. But truly it didn't hydrate/moisturize like all the rave reviews were going on and on OOONNNN about. I tried Olay too, before Neutrogena (also not effective, guess I was sold by the ad campaigns!!!). I'm going to check out Yu-be. Thanks Christy, another great deconstruction a skincare topic.

Hi Neil, I actually did one on explaining the differences between chemical based sunscreen, physical based sunscreens and combo based sunscreens. You bring a up great point about people not liking Zinc Oxide. However, there are some advanced ones that uses a form of Zinc Oxide by using nanoparticles which gives the illusion of sheerness but still offering sun protection. The Lira Clinical is one of them that I know of.

dear Christy, can u talk more about silicone. I've heard so many negative side effect of silicone which lead me to having hard time finding the right anti aging product since the most main ingredients of anti aging product is dimethicone/ Cyclopentasiloxane. some people said that silicone can cause acne and congestion, interfere with skin renewal, difficult to remove, and even block other ingredients from absorbing. and i also heard that silicone itself has nothing beneficial to our skin except fills in uneven skin texture like fine lines and acne scars so it gives the illusion and will dissapear after washing it. what is your opinion about it?
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Yes,. I have found that more and more skin care products are using silicones into their serums, gels, and moisturizers....ugh...
@groucrow97095 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Christy, for useful, specific information rather than promotion! Much appreciated. When you mention "bumpy skin", are you referring to sebaceous hyperplasia? I have been mystified bc although sebaceous hyperplasias are not a normal feature of my skin, I develop them from certain products. I do not know which ingredients to focus on to figure out what to avoid. I do avoid chemical sunscreens for this and other reasons. Any clues for me? I have combination oily/normal, break-out prone skin (although totally clear if diet and products are proper). Thanks again!
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Grou Crow, the "bumpy skin" that I am referring to is what is congestion of the skin. If you tend to get bumpy skin and NOT red bumps, then the issue is desquamation rate. Without looking at your skin, I can only give suggestions based on the information you have given me. You may want to consider products that have glycolic acid to help speed up your skin cell turnover rate.
@groucrow97095 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Christy! Yes, congestion is an issue. I have to use a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide cleanser...but finding the effective/kind balance is a trick. Thanks for your help - I will try glycolic acid. 💐 Johanna

Careful folks. I suspect this may depend where you are in the world? Pretty much everything she describes as being a benefit in its position on the list of ingredients for the Olay product, applies to the Neutrogena product in the UK! In other words, if what she says is true of the Neutrogena product in the US, it is NOT true in the UK. And the stuff she says should be low down, IS low down! The ingredient list for Neutrogena Hydro Boost here in the UK is (and note, this is also different from list given for Ireland elsewhere in the comments): Aqua, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dimethiconol, Synthetic Beeswax, Sorbitan Olivate, Laureth-7, C12-14 Pareth-12, Polyacrylamide, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carbomer, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Benzoic Acid. So check the ingredient list! The supposedly-same product appears to be very different depending what country you're in! In the UK, the ingredient list matches what she says is better and what should be low down. Apparently opposite to the US?
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ratsters7, I am finding out that formulations may differ depending on regions and country due to sourcing issues, and regulations particular to the specific country. Yube is NOT a hydratingserum. It is a concentrated moisturizer. If you are using it to treat dry hands, feet, or you have extremely dry skin and NOT break out prone, you can use it. However, Yu-Be has an ingredient in the product that restores your skin own moisture barrier called Isopropyl Myristate. HOWEVER, it can cause some people to break out , if they produce enough oil on their own.

Hi XD, thank you so much for watching. So sorry it has taken me this long to get back with you. I do have so many comments! I did this particular video because I received many requests. I don't do products reviews unless I keep getting the same request for a particular product. : ) . So if I keep getting the same requests, then I may consider it.

This video was great! I just found your channel and was wondering what skincare you would suggest for someone who is on accutane and has extremely dry, flakey skin? I’m on my last month and I’m acne free! Just super dry!

Hi Christy, This is my first ever comment on youtube although I have been watching videos from different channels from a long time. Your videos are very informative, easy to understand the cosmetics industry and skin care tips. I have a query as I have been struggling with it from ages. Any product containing glycerin makes my skin sweaty. I literally perspirate heavily until I wipe down my face but normally my skin tends stretchy and dry if I don't apply heavy moisturiser. Also, I get tanned or my skin color tarnishes using glycerin based products. Facial oils also aids to perspiration. I am medium fair with thicker normal skin type in 30's. Please recommend something alternative ingredient to look for in products. Hope to receive reply from you. Thanks and take care! Love from India.

Hi Blue Papillon, thank you soooooo much for watching! This sounds like you are in a very humid area. IF you are, and you tend to have dehydrated skin, then you may need some water based products instead of oil. Are you using suncreen and regularly exfoliating in the evening?
@bluepapillon90585 жыл бұрын
@@GoSeeChristy thanks for replying, yes India is hot in summers and relatively sunny during rest of the year. I will try water based products and get back to you. Yes, I do use sunscreen but not all have suited me except for few. Just checked the ingredients of the one which has suited me, and it is water based. Now I know the science behind it ;-). For exfoliation, i do once a week with mild exfoliators as my skin tend to dry out if I do more. Should I exfloliate more?

Christy, I bought the Olay Gel Creme Hydratant, age defying with hyaluronic acid. However, it did not seem very moisturizing for my dry skin.... Can you recommend something more moisturizing? Actually, maybe I can use this cream as a “night cream” since it doesn’t contain any SPF-what do you think?

Hi there, pls make sure your skin is prepped for any serums or cream by exfoliating the face and then use a spray toner to keep the skin moist when using hydrophilic ingredients such as HA. Do you have dry skin or oily skin? This will tell me what type of cream might be better for you
@kosmosbjm5 жыл бұрын
Go See Christy I have skin on the dry side, no issues with breakouts and absolutely no oil issues, aging skin over 50, but have good smooth skin with a yelllow undertone. I exfoliate and tone already, plus use serums.

Hi kosmobjm, if you have dry sensitive skin and you are using many exfoliants such as AHA (glycolic acid, etc) then this one may be better for you. goseechristybeauty.com/products/post-treatment-cream-moisturizer-can-use-with-retin-a If you want one that has a good balance of humectants, emollients, and ocllusives, fatty acids, anti aging ingredients then this one may work: goseechristybeauty.com/products/md-dermaceutical-overnight-repair-cream Both of them are fragrance, paraben free.

Thank you very much for your useful information. I heard a lot of good things about OZ Naturals Hyaluronic acid serum on reducing fine lines, forming the skin and hydrating the skin, but I’m still not sure about it. Would you, please, tell me how good it is? Thank you

Hi Nadia, I am not familar with this particlar brand. If you use any hydrating humectant, make sure you apply it with soething that can seal in the moisture unless you live in a very humid climate.

Is there any truth in Hyaluronic Acid, I have heard that the best way of using it is internal rather than external on skin.

Hi, thanks you for this review. What is your opinion on the Clinique Moisture Surge? What about The Ordinary Hyaluronicacid?
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Hi S CT, thank you for watching. I have not looked at the Clinicque Moisture Surge but typically not a fan of Clinicque. The ordinary, I have not looked into so I cannot comment on that.

Do you have a video about moisturizers that is best for very sensitive and acne prone skin type? Thanks
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, if you are very acne prone, you may want one that is both matte but also has anti inflammatories reduce inflammation whether it is from redness, itchiness, or sensitivities. This one is a mattifying moisturizer: amzn.to/2WUTH2F This one is a serum so it is water based and oil free: amzn.to/2WRqW6Q

There’s soooo many moisturisers to choose from. I would love your knowledge. Can you do a video on vitamin A retins? What can it help with please. I was looking for a retin A product. Does retin A , vitamin A actually help fade sunspots, sun damage? I seen today at the chemist for $50 Australian dollars was SKIN DOCTORS potant vit A cream, it has .0.15% retin A. Should I use this? Or put that $50 towards seeing a professional skin doctor? I have noticed the last year, I have a lot of freckles or sun spots, I’m a female Gardner 33 yr old. Can a cream help this ?
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Yes. Vitamin A does help with dealing with hyperpigmentation and sun damage. However, you MUST avoid the sun and wear sunscreen or the thinning of the skin can make the sun spots appear darker. How Vitamin A works to lighten the sun spots is basically increasing the skin cell turnover rate quickly so it is basically shedding the skin so by shedding the skin, the darkened skin eventually keeps flaking off. You can also use creams that contain lighteners and block Tyrosinase. This is an enzyme that our bodies create which makes the melanin turn brown. If you keep using products that block the enzyme, then the dark spots start to fade and lighten.

Hi! I love your channel! What do you recommend for cracked,dry heels?
@GoSeeChristy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa, this depends on how dry and cracked your heels are. Some people have really dry and cracked heels. If your heels are tough and the skin is cracked, you first have to apply a product to dissolve the dead skin so the hydrating product can penetrate. You could even consider going to get a treatment done at a mani pedi place . Then after you get home, you can use this for your feet. 1. Make sure your heels are slightly damp and then apply this on amzn.to/2TlqKQf 2. Use something like this, amzn.to/2Tny5hX. I like these because it hugs the heel area and still lets the air in so your feet don’t sweat but it is totally up to you. 😉 Hope this helps!
