Neutron isn't a bad plugin by any means. But it seems like iZotope releases new versions quite often. The clipper is a nice feature they added, but I (and others) already have other clippers I prefer like Kazrog KClip and StandardClip. I guess the clipper is useful for those who only own Neutron. However, the features in Ozone is where iZotope really shines. How do you feel about this Matty?

The clipper is cool. Lotta clippers out there already so nothing super special. I'm more excited about the phase and density module

Great heads up! Multiband upward compression is great! I often use MV2 to make my bass sounds more consistent but the low end sustain can get a little crazy. Also transient/sustain mode on a clipper sounds interesting!

@@mixedbymatty Agreed. The phase module can be handy for lots of people while being packed inside a "channel strip" type plugin such as Neutron. Generally, this module works better than a standard polarity flip switch since it can align both signals more accurately.

The phase module looks cool for combining drum hits. I’m ready for a Phase AI plugin that looks at every track and comes up with a perfect phase output on the master bus.

Sound radix auto align 2. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

Matty! What do you think of Studio One 7 pricing? I payed $399 for 6 and have to pay $150 more to get 7 but some new customer can get 7 for $199. What is wrong with this pricing?

How odd, I thought the kick sounded fatter when Neutron Phase was bypassed. Maybe it's the youtube sound? It's also strange that they forgot the de esser again. I know it's on Nectar but surely Neutron needs one too.

Yea. Wasn't the greatest example for the kick, worked with what I had. Also I think a lot of people think phase is a wrong or right type thing. While it might be technically wrong sometimes out of phase kicks can work. Agree about the Desser although you can create your own with the multiband compressor. :)

Thanks for the overview, Matt! A couple questions about the Phase module (deffo the most exciting addition for me personally - a worthy successor to Sound Radix Pi): how many side-chain inputs does it accept? Can it attempt to align several tracks at once? And does the "learn" button mean the phase adjustments will happen dynamically and always self-adjusting?

I think it's a bit diffrent than Pi. You can only side chain one input. Its not dynamically

@@gjb7966 it just analyzes the current tracks. Will probably have to reanalyze after adding/changing insert effects parameters.

btw phase will cause CPU and latency. this wont work properly. just letting you all know. i dont recommend upgrading at all.

Its Not necessary to put 2 phase. Just one and sc from the main chanel

Correct me if I'm wrong but Neutron is not really a mixing aid. I think the promo is misleading here. Neutron just “beautifies” individual tracks but doesn't really mix them. Mixing is combining a multitude of tracks so they optimally blend. And this is not happening with this plugin. The closest it gets to proper mixing is the masking eq feature which is really useful, yet it can only juxtapose two tracks at a time. Other EQs do that too. Neutron is not in any way mixing the whole sum of the tracks in the mix and that's puzzling.
