Cheers for this, Sam. Very entertaining to watch. You mention that Clipper doesn't cut off the transients in the way the in-built Limiter does; so Clipper uses a soft clipping algorithm? Oh, and thanks for a fantastic yet simple explanation of why you might opt to use Density over Compressor and for the heads-up on the inverted threshold behavior when using Density.

What happens when there's a bunch of files mix done with Neutron 4 but not published yet, if Neutron 5 is installed will I have to got through every track and re-do the Neutron settings? In short, how backwards compatible is it with Neutron 4 ???

2 different installations, 5 won't overwrite 4,both can be installed at the same time.

I just downloaded 5 and I still have access to 3. You don’t lose the old plugin when you upgrade to the new one.

@@DekkardBryon I’m away from home so I can’t check and I’m really not sure. I kind of doubt it though. Even if you added a second instance of neutron 3 it would just have the default settings no? Why would adding neutron 5 underneath neutron 3 change that?

First, you need a good song. You don't have that. Then a good performance. You don't have that. The vocals sound like my neighbor's son (who can't sing) just screaming. Absolutely horrible sounding. No plugin or plugins can fix this mess.

Nobody ever uses a piece of MOR Steely Dan/Toto/Eagles style of music to demo plugin software which in most cases would make judging the before and after so much easier. It's either some guy speaking rap or some guy screaming down a mic. This just sounded like noise before and a noise after. Don't get it. But maybe that's just me. 🤔

Nope. It’s not just you. Everything on KZbin is targeted to hip hop, metal and other heavy genres. Everything. I am e very experienced Boomer who has worked at a high level, but I can always learn-IF there is something directed more at what I do--classic rock, classic country, Gospel and Christmas stuff. My clients now are mostly vanity projects or dated song demos. Every now and then I will pick up Something I can use, it it takes a lot of watching. I have thought a lot about starting a channel “for the rest of us.”

Point me in the direction of a royalty free set of multitracks in a genre you relate to and I’ll happily use them for a video. That’s not me being passive aggressive suggesting you won’t be able to find any, it’s a real offer. Even tell me what you want to see a video on and I’ll see if I can work something out 👌

It would just be nice to hear some MOR pop/rock used now and again. It's equally annoying when a certain person uses a soft jazz track on a plugin designed for rock/pop! Sam, you're good, this is nothing personal. Another dot release from Evil Corps and as usual it's a smoke and mirrors job. it isn't a great update at all; Izotope and NI aren't a good company since they were eaten up by Evil Corps. They hate their current customers and they demonstrate that in the upgrade prices. Evil Corps updates and upgrades have been around for a while now and still are a ripoff and an insult to existing victims. You're a paid shill for them so I don't expect you to agree, but the tide is turning, folks are sick of this BS. I've had all the versions of Neutron and this little update shouldn't be a paid one, it's more buttons with generic bollox like "density" and other silly $hi*e, but the core thing hasn't changed for a few years. It's no shock that no unpaid commenter on these products have ever said that the individual plugins and "features" are market leading, in fact many people can't stand them.

Your voice sounds like it is recorded in a bathroom. Your mix of that track is over the top and Neutron or Ozone could not make it better. Fully cluttered sound.
