Hoping to visit this line someday, this place holds a special place in my heart from my childhood when first learning about it on DVD. And can't wait til 81 returns in the coming months.

Nice "breathing" sound of working steam locomotive. I'm the marine engineer on modern oil tankers, a I saw reciprocating steam engine only as Warthington type direct-acting pump, which is used on tankers as cargo oil stripping pump :-).

I was just there a few days ago at the station 81 is running and, 93 is having its cylinders and piston rebuilt. It was fun talking with the machinist on duty about it. The museum there is amazing.

That was awesome. Beautiful scenery, great locomotive, only missing the train robbers.

It's insane how well preserved the Nevada Northern is (passenger cars, freight fleet, steam locos from both jobs, etc.). The place is almost a time capsule.

Rugged but beautiful. A How lovely to escape the 21st century madness. When the loco came out the tunnel it looks like a man was on the tender just behind the coal hopper. He must have loved the sulphurous smoke.
@travelingtom9233 жыл бұрын
Yes he was. This person was shoveling coal from the back of the pile to the front.

Now THATS how it should be! I bet if there were MORE steamers, passenger service in the USA would pick up BIG TIME!
@travelingtom9233 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. The big main line trips with steam engines always sell out and pretty quickly.

@@U812-k7j hmmmmm, then why do they allow these steam tourist lines and steamers at museums to operate??, seems like a double standard to me..........
