Thanks for the solve - a pleasure to watch, as always! You said some nice things about how our puzzles don't have an overabundance of US-only content - true on the whole! - and then chose a puzzle that had much more than usual :) Next one will be easier. • Billings is a city in Montana, that's all there is to that one. The idea that "Billingsgate" might be the name for a Montana-based scandal was the joke, and it's one that I guess someone else came up with independently. • Al Unser is a champion race car driver. GASPED AL = "Unser said with difficulty." • Tom Mix was the star of many early Westerns, 291 of them (!) according to Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Mix). That's why the slower cowboys in those movies would TRAIL MIX.

Nice one, thanks Joshua! I figured out the billings and gasped ones after the video. But mix stumped me. Thanks again for some cool new words and knowledge, looking forward to doing the next in the series :)
