I think so far the ONLY time a shout-out has done good for a KZbinr is Jacksepticeye. He originally won a shout-out from one of PewDiePie's videos, and that's what got the ball rolling for him, leading him to be in what we consider the 3 best-known gaming KZbinrs alongside PewDiePie & Markiplier. But yeah, never in my life would I think that Shout-Outs would actually be bad for a KZbinr, and this video is really well-done.
@T3rr0r626 Жыл бұрын
I think the difference is the PewDiePie shout out was to 10 different people on a video with only 6 million views while the Mr Beast rewind shout outs went to 3 people and got 20 Million. You can only have a shout out carry you so far until you have to make something you're known for yourself, and if that never happens then it leads to the cases here.

I think that KZbin shout outs definitely hurt the channel more than anything else to be honest. After you get a shout out from those big KZbinrs you are only known for the rest of your time on the platform as "the guy that got a shoutout on that one KZbin channel" and that becomes an issue when you want to do something that actually means something to you and when you go out to publish it, people wont see what you did, they will only see that you were made public by some big youtuber, it's unfortunate really for a lot of people who have gotten shout outs from big youtubers and have done some cool stuff but in the end people will only know you as "the one guy who was featured on that one big channel" which is terrible. Overall, good video t3rr0r and I can't wait to see what you upload next.

So maybe one day. But your insights so far in the KZbin creation process have been a fresh air. Seeing you start with oddball games, to t3rroz toyz reviewz, and suddenly bringing out bangers like 'Evil Supermen' and other quality-oriented hits while covering the usual is nothing short of inspiring. It's time we start bringing in the Quality Bangers than going for the usual braindead content the KZbin Algorithm pushes. Congrats on your 300k, and all success you get from here, is truly yours, with no need of a shoutout. Cheers, t3rror. Maybe someday when I'll be on the Tubes of You, and I'll have you to thank for being an inspiration for bringing in quality content, as tough as it can get. Keep it up, man!

The way that the "sudden spike in views to following downfall" (5:14) was something I could absolutely consider as being flawless, because I have first-hand experience. I posted such lazy content which was just unedited, raw footage of me playing Roblox's Tower Defense Simulator and these would drag on for, at the very least, 20 minutes. Somehow I had found success over the short-term and for whatever reason got half of a million views off of this stuff. As you said, my channel very shortly died as a result of this video. I seriously have no clue *why* this happened nor *how* this got me famous but I don't want to try again with another channel knowing damn well this could happen again and *why* it could lead to a second downfall. Really got me to understand further beyond "my content was boring and effortless" to why my channel died and I could thank you for that. Genuinely informative video

I've gotten most of my subs so far through making fan videos for a Czech streamer and a problem I've faced with content creation: The "goal" is to make videos other people will watch, which I did, clearly the videos were watched by plenty of people, all mostly from the same group, but after just 5 videos of this type, it got stale, I wanna make something new and different but not disappoint the people subscribed for the usual content. So what would you suggest?
@GimOA Жыл бұрын
You're stuck as a "VODs fan edits channel" with Czech audience which is very niche, you can continue that way and do consistant uploads to not fall into obscurity. However, if you wish to make a different type of video that you would actually put efforts to make in that channel, then just step out and start doing it. Move the stream edits video on a second channel or perhaps stream yourself and put your stream edits in there too.
@mm552 Жыл бұрын
@@GimOA An intresting outlook, not quite far where I seem to be going with the channel, conciously and sub-conciously, I did try to stream actually, one time on this channel, and many times in the past, but I just can't do the live improvized... anything, that is pretty vital to making a stream entertaining. I think I'll likely move the edits, as I was considering that and make this channel more various.

As someone who's experienced a sudden popularity spike on my channel, it was both great and miserable. The feeling of whatever hit you get can feel great, but it is indeed a lot to handle. For me personally, I don't have enough interest or personal time to dedicate to regular content of what people want. It's the feeling of something you forgot to do being a day away from a deadline, and can put stress and pressure to maintain that popularity, else let if slip out of your hands. The drop after the spike is the worst part, especially on a mental level. It is seriously demotivating seeing videos suddenly drop in popularity, and at times makes what you're doing feel worthless and makes you feel like you aren't trying hard enough. I don't feel this way so strongly anymore personally since I've let myself let go of the expectations I put on myself when I got a sudden increase in popularity, but it can still be somewhat discouraging from time to time, seeing how poorly your channel is doing compared to that one big hit. I don't really have a conclusion for this, but I agree with what you have to say about not wanting shout-outs. Sudden, but temporary fame truly can be one of the best things, but it definitely can be one of the worst things to happen to a KZbin channel. After all, most of the people who come from whatever content or channel that gets you that boost, won't want anything else but the content that brought them there in the first place, and if you're not careful or unlucky whatever it is you want to make won't be what 90% of your audience wanted to see.

A good example would be: you want to run a company. The most natural way is to start off small and gradually learn and gain new knowledge and skills along the way until you've hit your peak. A shoutout would be equivalent to someone just flat out selling you an already existing company for you to rebrand right from the get-go. On the contrary, you'll quickly realize that your lack of knowledge and skills of running a company would consequently lead your said company getting shut down. Because you didn't had time to learn how to properly manage and grow, it caused you to be tremendously overwhelmed. This is why it's better to go slow and steady instead of taking it all in at once.

Imagine a shout-out as a first time trophy. But instead of asking for it you got to earn it. And that's exactly what I learned about this video. I just started making a video and it was pretty boring. I want to judge videos. And I rate this video an 7.9 on the scale.

The Shoutout dilemma is actually, as I imagine, very similar to Spamton's story. It goes something like this: "He was a barely successful Addison, with his sales being mostly void. He desperately needs help to boost his sales and potentially become the most successful Addison ever. One day, he got a call from someone. That person is anonymous, but whoever he is, he seems to be helping him. His sales gone up to millions of kromer. The other Addisons were so jealous of his success that they ditched him. But suddenly, that person who was helping him, left. His sales crumbled to zero, and the day he was to be evicted from the Queen's Mansion, he was nowhere to be found."
