As a father it is understandable that you do not get along with everyone in the family. But because of a tv show and all the tensions that have come from it, you can no longer get along with some family members, that hurts. Thank you for sharing your story, it is difficult to tell this and understandable.

When it comes down to it in life, you realise, you just want to be happy. No drama, no pressures. There will decisions you make that if you could do over, you would. Hopefully you succeed to accomplish the goals set in life, and those accomplishments have made a positive impact in the world. Please reach out, and make it a priority to mend your relationship with your son, he is your son, he's a good man that you should be proud of. Any differences between the two of you are petty, and would be a shame if not realised in comparison as the sanctity of family. All the best, and continued success in life Paul.

Paul Sr. I watched the show at the beginning as you started welding pipe handrails for business and commercial properties but always enjoyed the bikes. I hated when that point in my life took me on the road with teaching, seminars and 5 warehouses after 38+ years as a dealership tech with an ASE Master certification in 1978. Seems like a few months ago, but elbows hurt and job in the newspaper wanted an auto instructor, so emailed a resume that weekend. Forgot about it until a morning phone call ask me to fax ASE Master Card, Drivers license and asked me if I could teach on a high-end level. Well, Datsun had EFI in 1976 and I started in 77. I also knew how to use a gas analyzer so after an instructor at UTI, I had to support my family as they paid $12k a year. I could make that mowing yards, crap money but back surgery ain’t fun and recovery in 87 wasn’t easy. I had the hardest time mopping my floor & getting lights over the bench as the younger service mgr acted like he paid for it. I had to buy it, install it and turn in receipts to be reimbursed at a dealer. My new instructor job turned out to be a contract labor for Delco. That turned into 7 years of do this, go there, take care of this, repeat! 246 days average in a hotel is not fun as the desk gal called me by my first name as I walked in! What? Family is family! I didn’t get one growing up just a step-dad whose father bought land at $4 per acre in 1956 to start farming. After all, you go to a bank, barrow money to by implements, tractor and seed! Bam! Farmer… Nope! More to it as it takes long hours of work and some knowledge. I was self taught as I welded, fixed carbs, ask questions at a shop in town, 3 miles away, city sold parts but that was 25 mile further. I apprenticed at a two man shop. I cut my teeth on automatics, tuned, electrical and much more. Family is important but I found out at 14 I was adopted and didn’t belong. Baloney sandwich, cereal, milk cow at 5AM, throw hay, Christmas got me a belt buckle or pocket knife, even a Kennedy half dollar after I watched him get shot live on tv with 1 of 2 channels if rabbit ears worked. The phone was wood with crank handle on a party line. It rang, 5 neighbors on the same line could answer! The honor system expected you to hang up if not you call. Pencil, no pen. Cool aid or soda, what is that? Meat sold in a store not in white wax paper w/name on it, never saw it! Go to the city? What for? Never did. Play time was a 10 X 10 sandbox with green Army men for $0.50 cents. I didn’t get anything that I didn’t earn, mowing, hay, bearding cattle on a horse, plowing for a neighbor paid $1 per hour. Done…😅

I appreciate Paul Sr honestly but at the same time some things never change. As a father, you never call one of your kids “special”over the others. In so many words, he just told the whole world that Mikey is special and Paul is not. I think Paul Sr has rocks for brains. That’s terrible for a father to say. And stop blaming producers for your mess. You chose to walk around like tough guy and constantly argue with your kids on TV. You, Paul Sr., made the deal with the devil and got your reward. No amount of money is worth losing your kids love and respect. You were supposed to be the bigger man instead your were just the bigger bully. It’s obvious that you’re not a humble enough person to make things right and that’s very sad. Hopefully people learn what not to do as a father from Paul Sr.
