I watched several seasons of the show. Senior drove me up the wall. His temper tantrums were childish. His design ideas were limited. His technical abilities nothing without everyone else doing the work. I'm glad Junior, Mikey and Vinny are doing well. Junior and Vinny were the real talent. And both are flexible and forward thinking. Senior could learn a thing or two if he wasn't a massive ego on legs! I think Junior was sick of Senior sh1te and that's why he was so disrespectful.

Old Paul and his tattoos and the ridiculous fur around his mouth don't make him look macho, which is surely what he's after. All their creations are only good for a bike show. They are totally impractical for any transportation. They just got ridiculous with their "creations " after a few shows. Just a bunch of stupid drama . It became a joke show. Cheers, boys and girls.

Few people these days remember the early days, big inch motors didn't arrive in a packing case already built and if you wanted something in the basic construction of the bike to look trick you made it yourself. I built my Harley, 93 inch Shovelhead motor, Delkron cases, S&S internals, dual plugged, Crane roller rockers,. outer cases scroll engraved by hand. The bike had a rigid frame, 7" over girders by P&P and was made to be ridden hard. Also scratch built a copy of a Hydra Glide using a stock spec custom rigid frame and an 80 inch Evo motor, right down to straight red paint and chrome metal decals it looked the part. Having done that you tend to see through some of the OCC bike builds, yes brilliant fabricating skills but were some of the cock ups done just for the camera? Bikes taking a dive off lifts because they weren't strapped down, parts sent for chrome that needed more work, sometimes welding and the best one was the fuel tank that had been painted that had no fitting for a tap, I was a motorcycle mechanic for 48 years and if I had done any of those kind of things I would have been shown the door.

Rick Petco was the REAL craftsman on that show. I'll never forget Paul Jr. on the first episode pounding an axle into a hole that wasn't quite big enough. Paul Jr. has much more imagination than his father when it comes to design. However, I rode motorcycles for years (mostly Brit bikes) & I don't think OCC ever built a bike I would ride.

I owned and ran a motorcycle shop for many years, both with a partner and by myself. I have actually had a couple of these TV famous bikes make it across my table. The first OCC bike I ever saw in person was at a motorcycle trade show sponsored by Snap-On tools. Go figure, guess which bike was there. I was not impressed. A few months later one of their bikes showed up at my shop for electrical issues. It took my a while to figure it out but the means for fusing electrical systems just blew my mind. The fact that they actually used Rev-Tech engines and transmissions was the last straw for any kind of respect as a motorcycle builder. I've also had West Coast Choppers motorcycles cross my table and was actually impressed. While they still were dealing with the chopper industries growing pains, there were no shortcuts taken or cheaper "Budget Engines" used. It was either Harley Davidson or S&S engines, Harley Davidson or Baker transmissions. So the quality was there. For the first 10 years of the shop, I kinda enjoyed the money influx from the "Bikes are cool again" scene, but it actually got to the point where I refused to work on any kind of chopper. Towards the end when I finally closed my shop, I refused to even change oil on any of these choppers. In the old days, you took a complete bike, tore it apart and built it your way. The China produced parts did not exist. When TV discovered bikes, the China parts flooded the market, Korean parts flooded the market and quality took a back seat to good looks. In that same amount of time, I built one custom bike a year. I can actually tell you where most of them are today, because most of them are still being ridden today.

The first couple of seasons were pretty decent. But from start to finish (especially after the second season), the fake drama and related issues just really killed it. The producers of the show would basically tell them things to raise their hackles, and tell them to yell at each other more, and then the frustration would boil over on camera (as intended). The producers manufactured stress just to set them off, all while telling them to deliberately overreact to everything. Then they'd cut the episodes to show only the extremities of their behaviors...either the especially "sweet" moments that rarely happen in life, or the utter meltdowns that also rarely happen in life. It was always one giant setup. And it sucked, because they were interesting people, doing cool shit. I'd have been much happier with seeing more of their real process, and making bikes without being told to make them even wilder to look at for the sake of the cameras. But, oh well. Nothing to do to fix it except destroy America, really.

I always hoped that the disrespect Junior showed his old man was for theatrical purposes. As a younger man, there is no way I would have treated my father the way Junior did his. If it was real, I'd be disappointed for them both. I don't know my ass from my elbow around motorcycles but I always thought the builds were pretty cool, interesting and looked great. Loved the characters and took the show for what it was, entertainment. But what do I know? It was a great show and I miss it.

The son went against his dad. The son pushed his dad's buttons on national television in order to discredit his dad. The son argued and blew up to get his dad to react the same way. It was the dad that made the show and it was because of the dad that there was even a motorcycle shop at all. The show was great when the dad being the picture of a biker was there to add his actions to the show. But I blame the son for treating his dad like he did. The son deserved nothing. But the dad gave him his half and even helped him. I would never treat my dad that way even if he were wrong. After all I owe my dad everything. And I must show him the respect he is due. If I don't then I'm a scumbag.

Custom Chrome went bust and sold everything cheap but there wasn't anything new being made after liquidation. No word on Paul Sr being incarcerated. “In 2018, Paul Sr. filed for bankruptcy and moved to Florida, relocating the operations of Orange County Choppers to the Sunshine State as well. In 2021, he opened the OCC Roadhouse and Museum in Clearwater. The facility also features a concert venue, but the operation's finances have been the source of some controversy. In 2018, the Miami Herald reported that several foreign investors had been scammed out of millions of dollars in a Ponzi scheme connected to the OCC Roadhouse and associated "shares in paper companies that had no value at all." That was not Paul Sr.'s first foray into the restaurant business, nor his first brush with restaurant-related legal trouble. That same year, Page Six reported that the Orange County Clerk's office had filed a warrant for more than $22,000 in unpaid state taxes for his Orange County Choppers Cafe in Newburgh, NY. The outlet also reported that his home in Montgomery was in foreclosure. Despite the legal speed bumps surrounding the project, Paul Sr. continues to operate the OCC Roadhouse in Clearwater as a combination restaurant, museum, and concert venue. In 2023, Paul Sr. used the venue as the site for the first annual Orange County Choppers Invitational Bike Show and Biker Build-off Competition.” Quoted from slashgear’s Dec 3, 2023 article “Here's What Happened To Paul Teutul Sr From American Chopper”
