There's definitely more to life than work and profits don't always mean success. For me keeping the business moving forward and taking opportunities keeps me motivated and happy in work. Thanks to everyone who takes the times to watch, like and comment 👍 it means a lot and helps the channel move forward too. Cheers 👌

100% I love the garden clearance type jobs - done a few that were pretty grim - one in particular where I had to go through the house - which was disgusting, but price them right, get the correct PPE on and crack on. A few hours of mainly mulching brambles and place looks 10000 times better - has a real wow factor on the before and afters. Relatively easy and pay well as no one fancies the grimness!!!

Wise words Nathan. I love challenges when other companies have walked away from jobs / quotes due to the perceived difficulty or sheer "ball ache" of it. These are the jobs where a lot more money can be made, price high and enjoy the challenge ! You often find that the jobs you envisage as a complete nightmare, end up being a lot easier than initially expected = £££££££

Yes to this! I will always look at a job and see what i can do. I have learnt to be honest when it's too much for me, which customers are happy to hear the honesty, but I'll always consider it, no matter how busy I am. I'm booked until mid November but still happy to take on more! I gotta make bank boy! 😂

I hear what you say. But I also belive you should stay in your own lane. Plus also, personally speaking, it's not all about how many " billable hours" I can squeeze in a day or how much I can earn. "Equalubrium" is a phrase I live / work by. Finding the balance between earning what you want / need with rest time and time with the family.
@LewisgardenservicesLtdАй бұрын
Sounds a good one to live by👍 I definitely stay in my lane and stick to what I can do. I don't take on landscaping I've no experience in it tree work that's beyond me only the things I know I can get over the finish line safety and within budget 👍 thanks for your great comment

I’ll always go and look at a new enquiry, there are gems out there that the big boys don’t want. Being full with regulars allows me to pick and choose which new ones to take on. You never know who is watching, do a good job and that new job suddenly brings in another 2 or 3 jobs and enables me to lose some problematical regulars keeping the business fresh. 😂

Yes I’ve always chased up extra work and often quote on so called days off …I also tend to buy good kit also and it’s always there if needed… speculate to accumulate.., This time next year Rodney … I’ve also known people who have gone leaps and bounds business wise ( FairPlay) and I also know someone who went bigger with 5 vans and the teams he sent out didn’t do too well bringing a bad name so they downsized again …,all good fun … can’t win them all

There is a big lump of money for one off jobs that for one reason or another no one wants to do. I recently had a job to cut back stuff between next doors wall and a conservatory. She said no one wanted to do it so went out bought a battery hedge cutter on a pole and sorted it out. Not only did the customer pay for the new equipment but I walked away with nearly £100 for three hours gentle work. Didn't break sweat once! Just had to be careful with the glass. This rain had better stop mate. Thinking of buying a pump to pump people's gardens out.
