I’m glad that you mentioned this because I didn’t even think about the fact that the Flex is a Mastercard and the other cards are Visas which means that you can’t keep the same card number. You saved a lot of us from some potential heartache.

The easy way to get around this is to just shuffle the UR points over to a different Chase card before downgrading. Do that on the portal yourself so you don't deal with agents. That being said, I downgraded my CSP to a CFF last year and no problems occurred. I already had a classic Freedom card and wanted the Flex because of those quarterly bonuses that double up on top of the Restaurant bonus. 7x is worth not getting a new Flex card bonus ever again. If I want an elevated bonus on a Freedom card, I'll just get another CFU which will be destined for product changes later.

Honestly this sounds more like a user/customer error more than just Chase as I originally believed. I understand what RWP was trying to do but can see how the person on the phone may have been confused. Finally I don't have time to fix 3,500 worth of points is telling on how much effort he is willing to put in to getting this resolved. Each of us have a certain amount that is a threshold to get us to move. Thisnis more on RWP IMO.

If you have the credit card statement, it should show proof on how many points you had on the reserve credit card. Take a picture and email them. Great job on KZbin ♥️ I hope he gets his points back. ❤

I had the preferred. With my habits at the time and travel spending at work i moved up to the reserve. My company has sense gave me a corporate card, so will probably be downgrading back to the preferred. If this happened to me. I would be livid

Amex trifecta looking much better now.. LOL. Plus why are you paying full freight on airline tickets to Europe and not booking with points? You said you are using the CSR to get the price down from $$1K to $8K. Most people would be using the pints to get it down to FREE OR $400.

Everyone knows you don't mess with Chase like this. You have to follow the rules. And be mindful of the account change when switching from visa to mastercard within the family. This isn't uncommon knowledge.
