Never ending Kolkata food tour 🔥🔥 Kathi rolls, Kabiraji, Biryani and more 😍 Indian food reaction

In this episode, we take an epic food tour of Kolkata!! From street food to restaurants, we tried the most famous dishes the city has to offer. We started our day at Indian Coffee House, then visited the legendary Mitra Cafe for Kabiraji and a special diamond fish fry. Next we headed to Arsalan for Kolkata biryani and some of the best kebabs we've ever had. We finished the day with Kathi rolls from Kusum Rolls and Bengali specialties from Allen Restaurant. Hope you guys liked Arsalan Biriyani. I used to go there with my dad there. The floral flavor of the biriyani is from rose water. The price of food in Kolkata is one of the cheapest in the country in general.

The British started using mustard dip in their cuisine ( English Mustard) as it's know because of the Bengali influence during pre independence , just like how they call Indian tea, English tea

Drinking Tea is a relatively new habit for Indians. Tea as a recreational drink (was an import from China and) was introduced into India by the British!! Tea was only known in India as a herb before that. The Hindi word for Tea, "Chai", is also based on the Chinese word for Tea, "Cha"!! The Indian method of drinking Tea with milk is also a habit from the English. We Indians just spiced up the tea-making process.

Ah was waiting for this for so long!! You hit probably most of my favourite places! Kolkata was one of the first modern cosmopolitan cities in India, and you can see the myriad influences in the food. You can see a lot of French, Dutch and Portuguese influences along with the English, local and flavours from all over India.

The thing about kusum rolls or any kolkata roll is your choice of sauces and the amount of sauce you can add. I personally love adding tad bit more of tomato ketchup than chilli sauce. And thing about original inventor of rolls from Nizam's is that, they don't add any sauce but only pickled onions. Also, Kareem's kebab specially "Nalli Mutton kebab" is the best in my opinion and Kareem is by far THE most famous for kebabs in kolkata.

Actually we Bengalis like the kati rolls without any sauce. Just ask them to add double lemon juice and have it like that. U get the taste of the kati kebabs in a rich way.

Kobiraji comes from the word COVERAGE...From english days...since the fish or mutton was covered with egg ....the mustard sauce is omnipresent with all fried items in bengal as it adds that kick to it...bengal and lucknow biriyani are AWADHI STYLE...somewhat similar in taste..biriyani in kolkata was started by Lucknow king Wajid Ali Shah who spent his last days in kolkata...kolkata is indeed the food capital of India...

Kolkata is the birthplace of Indo-chinese food in India. Actual residents of China started this culture and this continues till date from centuries. There are two china towns in Kolkata. Old China Town serves authentic Chinese breakfast at terretti bazar in early parts of the morning. Where's the new Chinese Town (Tangra) is famous for its Indo Chinese food which is too good and hard to find anyhwhere in India. Recommended place Big Boss & Beijing in Tangra

I am surprised you haven't visited Kerala from the Mumbai food tour, it was very near. Like Kolkata, Kerala is also food heaven with lots & lots of delicious food varieties to eat. @Ganesh Nayak98 Brother Mumbai to Kerala is approx 1300 km however Mumbai to Kolkata is approx 2000 km. Kerala to Mumbai via flight time is approx 2 hours and Mumbai to Kolkata is approx 3 hours. That's the reason !!

Indian Cofee House is on College street. That is the largest market of booksellers in the world and it's one of its kind. That is unique. Kolkata is known for its culture, food, freedom fighters, and intellectuals.

This is an amazing video and brings back memories seeing all these places. However I am still waiting for another video from Kolkata. Knowing how Chad does the researches, you couldn't have miss the bengali thalis from some of the iconic places

It's always look nice both of you ☺️ currently if are in Kolkata then try Bengali thali like 6th baligaunj and kosekosha resturant they make traditional Bengali food I'm sure you guys love it.
