I want to say congratulations to you and your team. I have worked on dozens of low-budget films here in the Carolinas in the US. Usually the film falls apart in post production and nothing ever comes of it, so this is incredibly inspirational!

Love hearing stories like this. I work in the film and TV industry myself in Canada, and one day I hope the industry can have a middle class. Matt Damon talked about there being no more middle budget movies because the big studios only cares about trying to land their next billion dollar movie. I don't expect that to change anytime soon, but I hope we can develop a middle class of filmmakers. This way if the big studios decide to be a bunch of cheapasses like they were last year and trying not to pay their workers properly, the middle class can keep things moving along. The middle class is how normal society stays a float and I hope the same thing occurs with the film and TV industry. Because it's the struggling actors and filmmakers who are going to need the middle class for whenever the big studios try to screw everyone again.

Very inspiring! My best friend and I just finished filming our 1st feature film (which took us 4 years). And now we’re about to start post work, then the festival circuit, then streaming. This is very inspiring to us. I saw in another comment you are going to make a video about your marketing and details of that. I’m very much looking forward to that. Thanks!

As a film maker who has made a plethora of short films and even tried my hand at a feature back in 2009 but ran out of money before I could finish it. It's nice to see success stories such as this. If I may ask, what was your budget, and how many shoot days did you do?
@CHRAVE
@CHRAVE 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Upfront we spent around $10K AUD (mostly on equipment, locations, some props & costumes and food) But we of course owed around $27k worth of deferred salaries to cast and crew - which we were fortunate enough to pay back within the first few months once the film started making money. We shot entire movie in 16 days (not consecutively)

Cheers mate. We didn’t have a set budget from the start, mainly spent as we went and kept things cheap. Probably around $10k spent on things like equipment and locations, however we incurred a $27k debt due to deferred salaries for cast and crew - which we were luckily able to pay back once our film started generating money.

@@CHRAVE That's why I asked because your thumb nails says "no budget." Maybe put low budget next time? How much did you end up spending on production and then later on advertisement and marketing, and are you still seeing revenue from Filmhub, I hear mixed reviews by others. Thanks for answering.

That's awesome, even though respectfully this movie looks pretty bad. But that said, with time and a budget I hope you can make something great! Tubi needs more indie gems like Low Lifes, and less shlock with zero practical effects

@@CHRAVE Yeah, I don't want to be too rude. I think it's a nobel college try, but I hope you guys can channel your energy into something with a bigger budget, or something smaller in scale! I feel like if you're going low budget, you need to either have a really killer concept, or you need to really up the gore so horror fans give you less shit. As a horror fan, I love plenty of low budget films, Thankskilling, Sweatshop, the early terrifier shorts (before the bigger movies) and recently the Artifice Girl (kind of bigger but the concept was soooo good for something so small). Just don't settle and become another Blood and Honey, Humpty Dumpty and all those other low effort horror film makers. I think you'll eventually make something killer, but try and channel that energy into something you know the horror community would love. Practicals really cause a lot of us to appreciate even the lowest of budget films, just look at here for blood(2023), super low budget but had some cool kills people enjoyed. On the less gory side, I really liked a ghost waits and I am a ghost were solid concept wise
