Are you looking for a build to make sure you can always clear your dungeons? to help you speed up that random veteran dungeon queue? Then this is the build for you! This Oakensoul, heavy attack, Warden tank is incredible for ensuring you clear dungeons as either the main tank, or an off tank DPS for when the rest of the group wipes. You have great healing, excellent armor and health, and fantastic damage for such a tanky build. You will still need to know a bit about how to do a dungeon, you aren't invincible, but you will be able to learn a dungeon quite well using this tanky magicka warden. Never fail your daily pledges again! Never wait on a tank!

Duo is going to be interesting. One bar and hybrids opened up builds to a wider audience. I hope the devs continue expanding on aspects like that. This kind of dungeon should keep the doors open for that. Maybe this is where CP tree can start evolving as well.

Nice! I want to throw two things out there. One is a forum post from someone else. They were running a RESTO heavy attack fake tank healer DD. Buffing a resto staff with the usual heavy attack sets buffs the crap out of one of the passives that off heals one player from resto heavies. That might be another option worth trying, though it'll be hard to forgo the lightning splash damage. My own objective was also being a pug / carry tank in the past. The stickerbook is full now. Some of the ideas were the same. Like you I used Strategic Reserve and I used Precognition as my ult, because it frees you from certain unbreakable stuns as a solo player or with really bad pugs. My tank is / was geared to solo all normal and up to all non-DLC vet hard mode dungeons (mechanics permitting / tested in vCoA2 hm solo). For vet DLC dungeons I normally switched to a more conventional tank via gear change. My solution was a Master's 2H Brawler build. The shielding per second from that is much stronger than anything else. The key to a Brawler build is stam sustain. I ran a sorc at similar health and health regen as yourself, 2.somethingK stam regen, medium armor, 42% crit, Tormentor back bar and Vicious Ophidian body, Markyn, 1x Magma, resistance cap. Brawler shield, health regen, Crit Surge and Dark Deal. Very tanky, though shields have their limits. In some vet DLC dungeons you have to block. I was never truly happy combining a block-focused and Brawler-focused build into one, so I usually handled that via gear change, though vCauldron is an example where a Brawler sustain build shines for soloing the last boss.

Im thinking about a brawler tank right now actually! I cant just be a heavy attack channel lol. And interesting sustain solution could just be running the werewolf ultimate with strategic reserve and just never transforming. It gives an extra 15% stam recovery for just sitting there. The biggest problem with a brawler tank is finding major and minor breach together though. Not many classes can get both easily without pierce armor, and few can get both on a one bar build.

It works quite well! But as expected, I get many messages along the lines of: "No S/B, no tank" or "I've never seen a tank with a lightning staff before. How do you do that". Well, I like it :)

Interesting build. My problem with fake tanks is that they usually don’t taunt things or if they do they die due to no healer. Not really a problem here though.

I wondered about the crit for procing Ice Heart! My 1st thought was the helm from Ice Reach , Mother something. Shield procs from channeling ( heavy attack ) and gives magic back when it expires, but the 1 piece I think is max magic so Ice Heart prolly better cause adds crit. Great build !!

You have just enough crit chance for it to go off on pretty much on cooldown 👍🏻

Thats the weakness of using Oakensoul, you cant do everything. Im personally okay with it, but if you arent, you could maybe swap out iceheart for swarm mother in trash pulls.

Its not quite as good with the AoE lightning staff heavy attack nerf, but otherwise the build is the same and should work the same as it does in the video. Basically only your AoE damage has gone down a bit.

You could do this without oakensoul on a two bar heavy attack dragonknight or templar. Guess Ill have to make a two bar option, maybe even a non-heavy attack variant.
