Creepy camping experience Wild camping on Ovenden Moor, West Yorkshire. Falling asleep early is never a good idea when you suffer from 'sleep maintenance insomnia'

Hi Gaz & Fendi. When I was born, my parents were already cub & scout leaders, plus I did brownies & guides and our family holiday was always with a European camping company! I was born with camping firmly inserted in my DNA So when my spine started deteriorating in my mid 20’s camping got harder. Ive also now developed fibromyalgia. Walking & pain can be an issue, but I’m used to it, the cold makes it a lot worse. So I’m loving hearing about the quality light weight products that also really keep you warm. I’d also love to know what mattresses or cots you think are the most comfortable. For a weeks camp, I’ve been looking at hammock strung style cots, so there’s no metal frame going across in really weird, or painful places. Weights not too much of an issue as I’d likely be closer to the car & able to make a couple of trips. But for weekend or night camps, I want to be off grid a little more, so a one trip pack would be awesome. Basically I’m itching to reclaim at least some of the things I loved doing. And camping is top of my list.

You guys tear it all down and start again. Look at the Chicago world fair in 1893 for example. They built a huge city full of wonderful buildings in a very short time. Then once it was over, they tore it all down! Go have a look at the old photos of it and read its history. It's mind boggling but very fascinating!

Hey Griz, love the history you share on your channel...keep it up!! Back a few years ago, my partner and I were bivvy camping about a 3/4 of a mile from our car, like you parked in a layby. We were just settling to bed at about 11 pm when we could hear the car alarm freaking out from across the fields. I got up hiked over, nothing, nobody around, no wind, not even a breeze. You get that creepy vibe but we just shrugged it off and headed back, to beautiful a night to give up ...😄

GAZ Reference to your sleep disorder here’s a temporary tip... try making a cup of tea using the outer leaves of an onion you know the brown bits. They contain sulphur don’t forget the sugar... suffer insomnia myself so now and again this works for me when I can’t sleep boy am I grateful for KZbin

Also have you tried the herbal essence potion from the body shop... put a drop under your tongue before you put your head down... Another method is to hit yourself on the head with a rubber mallet... sorry I couldn’t resist it lol
