I loaded up Halo 3 on the final day to play, but my Xbox live was having difficulty switching from series X to the 360, I missed it and wished I had been there. Being 22 years old I look back on the times when I was 7-11, playing Halo 3 with my dad, my siblings, my relatives, my friends, anyone who came over. If they never played a halo game before, it was no problem. Halo 3 was special. Halo 3 was the peak of the gaming community. It showed what could happen when you give the players nigh-endless possibilities to create and (no pun intended) forge their own maps and destinies. There was so much about this game that made it unique. Looking back, the music has to be the saddest part for me. This was Bungie’s true swan song. Their end to a story that was, albeit rushed, beautifully crafted. I can’t help but feel now that with the decline of the community and the games, that halo 3 was my swan song as well. I’ve played every game from Minecraft, to TF2, to Zoo Tycoon 2, to the original BattleFront, to Guild Wars, to Fortnite, to Madden NFL, to Universe Sandbox. Games across multiple unique styles and communities.. but the replay-ability of H3 in all aspects made it a tier above all the others I’ve played. Hours upon hours lived. That’s the difference. I lived on Halo 2 & 3. Being 4-7 at the times of their releases, I was young but still enjoyed them to the fullest extent. I wish I could have finished the fight that day. I feel like I missed a loved ones funeral.

you're the employee tasked with pulling the plug: you enter the room with all the servers lights blinking all over the place. you slowly begin unplugging the Ethernet cables of each game while reminiscing of the specific memories each title brought you. LAN parties, 360 sleepovers, and summer grinds come to mind. Then you think of the MIA friend's you've had through most of its journey. Soon the room is dark, the hum of machines replaced by deafening silence. The Era is over, all those memories shared between us all, the fight is finished but we'll Never Forget.

This is such a beautiful piano cover of "Never Forget". I lost my dad back in April of 2021, and i remember back in 2010 my dad bought halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo Reach. Everyday when he came home from work we would play together on co-op. I always loved to play Halo 3 and "Never Forget" brings back so much nostalgia of me and my old man killing brutes and joining with the elites to defeat the covenant. Just this song in particular brings back sweet memories of my old man. I wish i had just a bit more time with him. Even though I am now 16 years of age I am holding up. My old man taught me a lot, and had fun playing these games

Halo 4 was the peak, but modern times and content has become corrupted and overly kid friendly and focuses on making every realistic as possible. The problem is games like halo isn't realistic so why should EVERYTHING be top tier, I dont mind graphic overhauls but Infinite was common error in the industry of gaming, they should've stopped at Halo 4, to be honest, Cortona and Chief should've died at that explosion in the bridge, would've been the best ending in the Halo Franchise. I love Infinite, I love to mod it too but the story is to out of place, halo 5 was epic but the story was all over the place. if they were going to make an actual Master Chief Relevant halo, they should've made one where you play as one of the Nobles from Reach but before they formed the team or before they met with Noble 6, like in the memory where its just Carter and Cat and OG Noble 6, we needed more of that. Halo Reach Sequel please Bungie!!!

@user-dd3xd6xh8t I think it would've been awesome if Halo 4 was actually somewhat the end of chief story like think about it. And how sad it would be that he finally got the chance to retire from a Spartan, and a chance to be actually human. But since war is sadly all that he knows and many people that he offended because of war. Is absent to him in civilian life A man out of time at a place similar to Captain America, struggling to adapt to a time. That he wasn't meant to still be young for but worse for chief It would have been perfect, and so sad to see him living alone. Unable to bring himself back as master chief. Because of the guilt of failing to save Cortana, like I could literally imagine him living alone in a house out in the wilderness, similar to Marcus from gears. People said. That they couldn't see him retiring or whatever, but I think they completely underestimated his character. Or they just didn't envision his retirement right like I'm envisioning right now It also would have been a nice Break for him, letting himself fall apart to put himself back together. Recollecting, everything he went through over the years. Find himself as master chief again. I really wish they went that route with the reclaimer. Saga, so in my opinion, halo four should have been chiefs story ending At least for a while before bringing himself back in the armor finding his way again. I really wish they did that. And it would have been a perfect opportunity to give characters other chances in the spotlight of halo.

I watched my pop play these games when I was little, when I got old enough I played through them with him. Every mission we did was just another reminder that this awesome person is my father. Whenever I go back and play these games I remember him fighting the covenant with me, letting me have the gravity hammers and shotguns, and celebrating whenever we beat a campaign. It sounds silly but whenever I see chief I can't help but think of my dad.

I grew up on this game. I remember my friend coming to my house and finding it game, sitting on my dads shelf. He then scream, “YOU HAVE HALO 3?!?!?!”. At the time I didn’t know what that was so i had no reaction. After telling him he immediately put it into my 360 and we got instantly attached. Ever since that night, we just kept playing. After he moved out of state, I introduced the game to my family and they also fell in love with it. For years we kept playing and after getting an Xbox 1s, I bought Mcc. When I got back to high-school, I remembered someone downloading Halo Ce on all the school computers and after discovering this, I would host lan parties everyday for lunch. Most of us didn’t have a console or Xbox so doing this made it extra special. When I found out that the servers were shutting down, my heart dropped. Logging back on my original 360 and talking to people via open mic, was so sad. Even though I had school the next day, I didn’t care and just kept playing. This game is what sparked my love for gaming and I’ll never forget my first experience. I’ll never forget all the memories, all the joy it brought me and my family. I guess the old saying is true: “You never appreciate something unless it’s taken away from you”.

Even though I was too young to fully comprehend the intricacies of Halo 3, it was an incredible game that held a special place in my heart alongside Minecraft on the Xbox 360. My brother and I would immerse ourselves in endless hours of Forge on Sandtrap, blissfully ignorant of the outside world. I vividly remember feeling a mixture of fascination and terror, unable to conquer the High Charity mission. The fight may have remained unfinished, but the memories of Halo 3 are etched in my mind forever. Farewell, Halo 3. You will be deeply missed.

I love that even though everything is this game, characters, story, everything is completely fictional, we were still there. We felt everything. Knowing how many soldiers were lost, the hardship of Master Chief, the end of humanity, how all of it felt. We'll never actually know the feelings these characters endured, but even if none of it was real, it is more real in our hearts than most things we deal with in life. Rest easy 117. And thank you.

I really miss How this series used to be wish, Halo is still Halo. And that Microsoft and 343 didn't destroy it by turning it something it's not. It makes me even more sad of the wasted. Opportunities of what could have been better storytelling for halo Don't get me wrong. It doesn't stop me from coming up with my own better ideas, but it's sad to not see them as games movies books comics etc I mean, hopefully 1 day things can change for Microsoft, and they can make Xbox. Xxbox again and have a true developer, even better than bungie And 343 combined that can bring halo back to the top and better than before And hopefully all the ideas that we came up with that are better and fit. Chief's story and every other character of the universe can come into the light of day and become a reality. It may sound unrealistic at first. But where there's will, there's hope which is why I'm never given up on the idea of. Halo, returning to its former glory, especially other franchises like gear is a war, another franchise. I'm also upset about being a shelf that's former self. One thing at a time perhaps Because the glory days of us enjoying the franchise for its storytelling and such. We literally want back and deserve to have it back.

This isn't Never Forget, this is Unforgotten. Never Forget (Halo 3) is a new version of Unforgotten (Halo 2), and has a different key. The one you're playing right now is definitely Unforgotten... which strangely also plays on the Halo 3 main menu.

This is true, Never Forget does begin in a different key than Unforgotten, but it doesn’t end that way. If you listen to the second piano part in Never Forget it’s nearly identical to Unforgotten and that’s what you hear on the Halo 3 main menu. They just incorporated that part of Unforgotten into Never Forget with a slight variation. But that piano part was in the same key, just not the beginning of the song. If you listen to the piano part simultaneously on each song, it matches almost exactly. I think Ian’s piano rendition just sounds different bc it’s a much slower tempo, but it’s still in the same key as both songs. Well done, Ian! 👏🏼
