@@helenamcginty4920 I suspected we did this but it was confirmed when friends came over for dinner when I was a kid, then again, kids never said anything at dinner (back in the day). Once married my husband's family, from Canada with English relatives still living in Staffordshire, all very polite, sat through the engagement party with eyes wide, polite as ever, but shocked to say the least. Very polite, the Canadians. My husband remarked, in some amusement, that "everyone talks at the same time in your family, but no one listens to anyone else!" Yes, and his point was? We all knew exactly what the others are saying, am I right?? (And no, his side never did quite manage dinners with my side, but I think alot of that had to do with the talk was usually about politics!)

Almost perfect imitation of my parents. Excellent acting skills! Only my father tends to pace around the room the whole time during such conversations, then he starts talking to himself, suddenly leaves the room talking, comes back in a few minutes later and is angry that no one listened to him. @@TragoudistrosMPH Yeah... My father's communication skills and self-awareness skills are somewhat, how should I put it... deficient. He doesn't get to the point, likes to change the topic from A to B very quickly and then an hour later, when he's already on topic H, he suddenly jumps back to topic A and is then confused as to why others have difficulty understanding him and listen to him. In addition, often no one knows who exactly my father is talking to, whether he is talking to everyone in the room or only wants something from one person, because he never maintains eye contact, turns his back to you during the conversation, suddenly leaves the room, etc. You really need the patience of a saint. But it also has something positive. In contrast to him, all of us siblings are very good at communication. At least that's what our teachers often told us.

My family has had this EXACT conversation before and it is insane how accurate it is, from complaining about swearing to "There's nothing good on" to "what you've done there is cherry-picked the last 100 years of the best movies," to refusing to eat anything flavorful to overcomplicating the route to get to the theater....we have had all of these conversations. This is my Mamgu (Welsh for grandmother) all over Complains about not going out and woe is her. Then I devise a schedule for us to pop into town regularly to do a bit of shopping (M&S and Savers obvs) together and generally have a nice time and omg if I did! “How far is it?” “When is this?” “Why?” Her breed is an enigma

I'm lucky then, my mom would go along with almost anything I suggest (provided that the place/event is not too far away, not too contemporary, does not include classical music, is not too crowded 😅..) The outro recorded at the theatre is amazing, you can feel the energy, super! Best of luck ❤

First of all: I do not like my new winter job. I mean the job is alright but I no longer have the possibility to sneak away to watch FAH in the morning! It changes the Thursday feel completely!! Nonetheless, great sketch!! My parents also don't want to go out to see a certain comedy group in Hamburg. They just don't know what's good for them!! 😊

Okay, that's just a brutal flashback to that time I watched Deadpool at home while my parents were out. The back of our couch (and thus, the TV) were unfortunately facing the giant panorama window to the garden. And instead of coming in through the front door, my parents suddenly bursted through the porch door like the fucking kool-aid man. My father literally broke the DVD in half with his bare hands while my mother gave me the sternest and most disappointed talk of the century. Oh, and in case you were wondering: i was 21 at the time and yes, my parents still bring up this instance whenever they talk about awful movies that they hate 😂

We took family in laws out for museum and dinner. They wanted a minute by minute schedule and an exact hour for dinner. And they ended up stopping at a cafe eating an hour before the restaurant. Not being hungry when we arrived. Me and hubby were starving because we waited. Why do we bother.
