The Bean could fight most heavy weights, the good ones, and give them all they wanted for 4 rounds. He was not a 10 round fighter but the King of his domain. I bet Ken Norton would have been surprised by how good the Bean was in a four round fight.

Always loved watching Esch fight. He could punch hard and accurately, he can take a punch, and opponents think he's fat and out of shape, but he's got the stamina that proves otherwise. Dude is tougher than tough. Much respect, Butterbean!

The Bean is the King of the 4 round fight. I would have loved to see Bean and Tyson fight an exhibition 4 round fight. The draw would have been huge and to watch two forward fighters throw huge punches would have been epic.

The bloke can cop a knockout hit and still keep fighting , the 28 stone of bulldog belt's back twice as hard with power and speed.Might not be pretty but the result's the same.Really like this bloke and the way he doe's it.Can you imagine in ten years time his nephew asking "Uncle Eric do you know how to box? because Some bloke's are hassling me and i want to stand up for myself" " well . i'm no expert but I have dabbled".

Butterbean was just a tough built like a tank and never backed down he would just keep coming at you didn't matter how many times you 👊 hit him and when he started swinging you know your going to get hurt then knocked out just shows you don't need big muscles he was just a would give him fair play to him as he made a great boxing match every time even if it was only less then 4 rounds him against tyson would of been a great fight (but never happened)
