UAVfutures I have a idea.....for freestyle quads.... We can use two flight controller, so when the quad is tilted upsidesown..... we can reverse the the motor so that it flies upsidesown... Pls respond!

UAVfutures this is cool, the only issue I see is if you have to leave to get retrieval gear, your quad is letting all those pesky strangers know right where to find a 2+hundred dollar quad. The good outweighs the bad I think, but be mindful when flying with this, everyone will know it’s location until it’s found.. love the videos Stu, new fpv’er and just joined the discord, thanks for all the content

Definitely agree with Cal. Knock off like 10$ and I'm all game. Still need one though, or we need vendor competition to bring price down. But cant argue with being able to find a drone. Ill probably buy one to have but they could definitely push more units by dropping the price.

TasFPV hmmm. Fair enough. Still for me that’s R$120! It’s a lot for me. I think they’re taking advantage of the fear of loosing ones drone. I really feel 10 to 15 dollars is a more fair price.

Thank You!! I crashed yesterday (same time you posted this coincidentally) the battery ejected and its still out there somewhere in 2 acres of densely overgrown forest. $30 is a lot for what it is but not for what it does. It could have saved me 5 hrs of pushing thru the overgrowth, mosquitos and poison ivy at 90°f AND the cost of replacing my quad. This is worth every penny if it stops this happening to you even once it pays for itself ten fold.
@jayholt21016 жыл бұрын

Thanks for the review, just to answer few questions that appeared in the comments .. (might consider pinning this, will edit and update as more questions rise) >> The lipo is charged and managed by itself while you have a lipo connected to your quad or when USB is connected (if the 5V rail is USB powered) >> When your lipo is not disconnected in a crash it acts like a regular buzzer and you can trigger it off from your remote >> In case of receiver failure it is up to you to have FC configured to beep in case of RC link loss >> The direct soldering connection was chosen as eliminating as much points of failure as possible. (you can still add your own plug and switch it between quads to reduce the costs) That's why there is no on/off switch and no unnecessary stuff to configure.. it just works.. >> Any other questions, feel free to ask :)
@Reman19756 жыл бұрын
It's one of those things where you'd find it hard to justify the cost.......... Until you're well into hour 3 of trudging around the in trees near your flying site looking for your lost quad. I'm thinking around that point it may have started to seem like it would have been cheap insurance (Everyone has 20/20 hindsight. :) ). How I look at stuff like this is by factoring in my hourly pay rate. If the price of something is lower than the money I could have earned at work in the time that I've saved by owning it, Then it's probabbly worth it. So if owning one of these saved me 3 or 4 hours of wasted time looking for a quad (Over the units entire life) I'd be better off getting one rather than not.
@NostraSVK6 жыл бұрын
I think that you are totally right. I would even add total price of quad to your equation and in that case, it is worth it.
@nihilisticone42156 жыл бұрын
Good idea, small and light, but a bit pricey. For a bit more you can get a T beacon that not only beeps, but transmits a UHF beacon that you can locate using a UHF walkie talkie. I think it can even broadcast the last known GPS coordinates from your GPS equipped iNAV birds.

If you get a good set of noise cancelling ear defenders they'll block out the loud noises, but they amplify quiet noises. You can hear people walking up the road long before your ears would. Something handy to know if you have to track a buzzer. :)

With how rare sessions are getting this is a must have for me, cant be losing a SINGLE gopro nowadays. My quad has an underslung battery and if it touches something the lipo pops out, 30 bucks for the peace of mind of not losing a setup worth nearly 1k AUD is deffo worth it

At the current price it seems they are selling insurance rather than a device. The cost to outfit my quads with this device would go a long way to cover the cost of 1 lost quad. Needs to be below $20 US to be attractive.

As it's a pricey item, It could be worth getting one, But having it on a plug and adding pigtails to all your models so you can swap it onto whichever one you're going to have in the air at that time. It also makes me wonder about the feasibility of having a little 100 to 200mah 2s backup battery firmly fixed onto a quads frame somewhere. It could be setup with a small board to be disconnected unless main power unexpectedly goes off, Then it could kick in. It wouldn't have enough amps to make the quad fly, But having a buzzer, GPS and VTX still running for 15 or so minutes after a battery ejection would definitely make a quad easier to find.

@markmitchell67116 жыл бұрын
Try looking up the parts you think you will need to build one of these. It’s not just a buzzer. I bought a Dronekeeper Micro. I looked inside and saw a custom circuit board and lots of small components. If you knew how to build one, which you probably don’t. By the time you bought all the parts you thought you would need you would have dropped $40.00. I already attempted it. It didn’t make sense to spend the time and money to build something you can buy for $34.00. Component cost adding up to a buck? Give me a break.
@raymondwilliams68786 жыл бұрын
The main point is that this could be something that many people would use since it solves a very real problem many of us have; however, the price point isn't right for most. And I say this regardless of the cost of components. $40 a buzzer is a hard sell. There is a small niche within our general drone niche that will jump on this (because it makes sense based on what they do with drones), many won't. Still, it's a great idea.
@jayt6536 жыл бұрын
There's got to be a simpler way by adding a 1s lipo to power the FC/RX and buzzer in case the main batt is thrown away? 4.2v lipo, FC runs at about 4.8 - would need something to limit current flow to the lipo when powered from the main battery - but if it was thrown, simply switching on your buzzer would allow it to start beeping? The elec experts may be able to chime in here. I have a ton of flat 1s lipos that I've re-purposed from either bad packs or old phone devices that are very small and flat. $30 - geesh

sometimes 3" of grass, a wide field is all it takes to camouflage your drone and suddenly trees or bushes all start to look a like too. I think of the price as a 1 time fee for peace of mind. I've seen a few lost kwads that could have been avoided. sure popping a battery doesn't happen often, but that extra peace of mind. sure wait for the copy cat, but remember your money is your vote which companies thrive in the hobby.

side note srsly tho, haw many drones do have? u just need 1 or 4 the most your while other drones could use a regular buzzer or non at all. like I bet out off the 10 drones u have u probably fly 4 the most right, out of that 4 u fly the most 1 is your the most favorite to fly right.. simple.

Nice Idea, but....pricey Better idea would be if the usual 2-8s low voltage beeper (3x7 segment dispaly, double beeper and bright LED light) with display excluded (for weight, space and preserving energy) and put instead a small LiPo attached (as this have), a bit of FW change, it would do the trick. And from 3$, an increase to 10$ let say, it would be on everybody's build.

i could make one with a 1s battery, a micro/nano arduino, and a buzzer for about $8-12 the programming would be easy.
