A plugin update that I would like to see is to be able to specify where you want your backups to be stored. I have a few monitored folders that get backed up to my unRAID server automatically. Would be nice to know my OBS scenes are always safe without me having to remember to back them up all the time.

I was just thinking that. It would be great to set the destination and point it somewhere like a Dropbox/Onedrive/Google Drive synched folder

I love that it lets you choose a specific folder to save your backups, like just in case you have to format your entire C drive where OBS is installed.. so you can save your backup to a different drive entirely. Also looks like YT's automated comment moderator already removed my other comment, that had absolutely nothing negative in it at all..

Great tutorial as usual, but my question is do I need to reinstall plugins off of the OBS website again and or .lua scripts again if the OS is erased and reinstalled? Or, even an OBS full uninstall? I've used scene collection before, but don't know if plugins are included. Thanks.

I've always copied the whole install from: :\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\obs-studio - That keeps the whole install backed up (Profiles, Scenes, Settings), although manually of course unless batching/task scheduling. But it's nice to have more options such as this plugin. The backups can end up quite large though, so that's something to consider.

I've downloaded this great Scene Collections Manager, and once I'm in OBS I highlight the scene collection I want to work with, then click tools and in the dropdown menu click Scene collection Manager... but my scene Collections on the left side of the Pop-Up is blank! How do I populate this side with my scene collections, so that I can then back up these scene collections? Please advise. Perhaps I did not install and save my Scene Collection Manager plugin within the correct folder on my Mac Hard Drive???? Not sure. I just hit install and let the system install it in side whatever folder it automatically installs into. Please help.

Hey thank you for sharing. I have a question if someone can help. I've noticed that the original scenes have both .json and .json.bak file extension but the backup creates only the .json one. Doesn't this creates issues when you need to import the scene into a new, fresh, installed OBS? Or when the .json is imported for the first time then the .json.bak will be created automatically? Thank you
@gregrose42492 жыл бұрын
I really really like this plugin, but don't you think it'd make more sense if you were able to pick the drive & directory the backups were stored in? I understand being able to restore them if you accidentally delete something from a scene and want to simply restore it, but what if you have a drive failure and lose them? Having them stored on a slave drive or somewhere else makes seems much more safe. I realize that you can simply copy and paste the backups to another drive, but that's how you you have to do it now anyway, without the plugin. Just thoughts for future updates to this great plugin :)

Love your videos, you are the best. Thank you for everything you do. -but you fly through parts when you expect people to just know how to do things not realizing that a lot of people are watching the video for specific directions. The video was awesome until the end when I was hoping to see where everything was located but you chopped it up so it was impossible to follow to see how you got to it.-
@EposVox2 ай бұрын
I’m confused. At the end section, I dedicated multiple minutes of the video to showing where everything goes and even had on-screen text showing you the file paths where the backups are stored. I’m not sure how I could have been more clear. I didn’t cut anything, I didn’t jump around, I made sure to explicitly display where things were.
