How does this device compare to an apple AirTag? I’m thinking in terms of functionality and cost since AirTags don’t charge a plan and Cube does.

AirTags depend on other iPhones for location which is great in urban areas because there are plenty of phones around. The Cube can find things anywhere with more accuracy. If you have a dog that runs into the woods lost, you are going to want the Cube vs AirTag as an example.

AirTags are good but takes a too long to update . And if you are very far from your car won’t update unless you are close

It's each Cube because they each have their own individual service. It's like paying for cell phones. Think of each as having a different number.
