those appliances are likely MUCH better than any of the new ones, ESPECIALLY the fridge. Modern fridges are so bad there are lawsuits about it, but at my old house we had a fridge from 1995 that was in continuous use by previous owners and only JUST gave out last year.

There's hardly anything unique about this. In my neck of the woods (New England) there's such little supply of housing that most apartments haven't been renovated since the early 2000s. The landlords have no incentive to modernize the apartments because people will take whatever they can get

I can't tell if they're AI or people are just that indistinguishable. I never knew the quality of appliances would strike such a deep chord in humanity. UPgrades necessary - new roof - done. Appliances were probably better made than most are today - the fridge, washer and dryer are almost guaranteed to outlast one bought today. You could put in led bulbs if you want to replace the working incandecent bulbs. I've been living here 25 years and have replaced about 2 lightbulbs that burned out but since I had spare incandescents thats all I still have.
@velvetfrogg22739 ай бұрын
lol. I grew up in an area with either bad wiring and/or crap power company (constant power surges)... I moved out. My dad gave me a pack of incandescent bulbs and I thought, these are only going to last me a few months so I bought florescent bulbs to have on hand (The apartment did have a need for almost 20 bulbs). The incandescent ones lasted several years and I was surprised because we were always buying new bulbs growing up.
