This is good advice. My lawyer has been doing the same for all my traffic tickets. I sightly disagree with the speeding ticket. First thing you should do is ask for the Radar calibration Certificate.

I like to add that a lesser charge is not something they add from the kindness of their heart. It is their attempt to get collect on you without having you returning. So they do it to make you go away. That is why it normally doesn't work in the first attempt.

I got a ticket for "doing 70 in a 45" and he "graciously" dropped it to "60 in a 45." However, he stopped me adjacent to the 45 sign. The only person who might've been doing 60 was the person three cars ahead of me. Not to mention the cop flashed his lights and started pulling out before I even reached him. He was clearly scanning the people in front of me, but he didn't want to chase the person who was actually doing 60 in a 45.

In the 1970s when the federal government told the states that if they didn't make 55 the maximum speed limit they wouldn't be getting federal highway funding, Montana made an Energy Ticket. If you were pulled over for driving 64 in a 55 the officer would write you a $5 ticket for wasting energy resources. It wasn't a moving violation and had no points.

In NC you can also get a PJC. That's a prayer for judgement. With a PJC you get the citation sealed for 3 years and if you don't get another offense in that time it's thrown out as if it never happened. Check your state's laws because your state may have something similar. Also, it's not the cop you want to talk to, it's the DA. By the time it gets to court the citation is the DA's responsibility. The DA is the one who can offer a lesser pleading. When it has reached the DA's office the issuing officer no longer has the authority to modify or fix the ticket.

I got pulled over other day officer said i was doing 63 in a construction zone 55mph no speed limit sign until several miles dowm the road and he followed me 6min 4-5miles past where he said i was speeding wrote me a ticket for 6-10 over and impropper lane use. Oh im in Michigan and this was on i75 in detroit at night by michigan state 🚔. I have a clean driving record not one ticket in over 10yrs and I drive for a living. All that being said I looked up a lot of things and its ok for a cop to follow you or not pull you over right away and they can still ticket you even if there is no speed limit signed posted. In Michigan if no sign is posted the speed is 55mph unless its a highway its 70mph in this case it was a highway construction zone at night so i was play it safe driving at a safe med speed.

HELP! I was pulled over in VA for failure to come to a complete stop at a red light before making a right turn. The cop was there not blocking the intersection but because of that cop I couldn’t see that any cars were coming. And for the cars that were going before, my light was red. The cop pulled out in front of me, and i pulled over. I am in Texas. I did not run the red light! He said I did, and I asked him what qualified running a red light? He said if the light turned red while my car was halfway in the intersection. Btw according to law, here that is wrong! Not only that, but the first thing he said was that the other cop got my on canera. How do I get that footage for my case? Because there is zero doubt, I ran that light. No sooner than I pulled out, they were getting someone else, so I took a picture. This is not lawful! Both camera footage should be beneficial to my case. I just got the ticket today, so I am trying to figure out the best way to handle this. If I just wait and show up in court on the date of the ticket, I am afraid I do not have evidence over the officers. Depends WYA, mine was In Nassau county and they’re known as what’s called a plea bargaining court. The DA lowered my 2 red light tickets to 2 Jaywalking tickets before I even said a word. That made the points go from 6 to 0 as Jaywalking isn’t a driving offense. In nassau they just want ur money, not hurt you. If you’re in one of the 5 boroughs, do what they guy said cause u can’t take a plea deal. Only guilty or not guilty in NYC

Try putting your car in cruise control in at 55-65 mph the speed limit , on a 4 to five lane highway instead of the flow of traffic , and you will become one of the only cars doing it and you will find yourself in a more dangerous situation with cars trying to race around you , on long freeways , you’ll look like the blind granny out there that’s ready to kill somebody unintentionally , speed limits do not make the roads safer , good courteous aware drivers make the driving experience safer … not blind granny’s doing the speed limit …screwed up system … ff … bet there are alot of people that are made to look like bad driver’s , and some are probably law abiding good citizens that get caught by these road pirates, but there is probably more bad cops just doing what they are told and ordered to do , even if it’s an injustice , they will keep doing it , and trying to block it out in their cognitive dissonance, probably why they are pissed alot , cause they ordered to do things that are wrong and just off … you’d think they would be more reasonable , but they have to carry out their orders without question … just follow orders , order followers without their own thoughts, crazy mess this world has become… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Plead not guilty, and take it to court. If issuing officer fails to appear, ask for the ticket to be automatically dismissed. If s/he does appear, ask to reduce it to a ticket with no points and small fine. Unless there was an accident, or cop just wants to puff out his chest, they’ll agree to a lesser charge almost every single time. Good luck?

Hello, I'm new to Canada and often use TTC and York Region buses. One day, while riding the Viva Orange bus for the first time, I didn't realize I needed to punch my Presto card at the stops, as it's different from other buses where you punch it inside. That's a tough one, man. Depending on your state, those could be low grade felonies or high grade misdemeanors. I'd still offer to plead to lesser offenses, and use your recent freedom and lack of time as a reason for not getting everything legal yet. Good luck!

I got 4tickets in Union City Oklahoma. Was driving 4am there’s no street lights. I couldn’t see stop sign bc too dark. There’s 2 tickets that I couldn’t understand. I connected my phone to my car that I listen to music. my phone was on my phone holder. Cop ticket me for that $120. After I showed my insurance, he gave me a ticket n told me to show insurance later to get that dismissed. Gave me speeding ticket that I don’t think I was speeding. Plzzz help

I went threw a turn signal on a yellow light, the cop was on the opposite side of the street unable to see my light so he didn't see what color the light was how can this be fought in court? Also I was behind another car that didn't get a ticket.

If the citing officer didn't show, the court should have dismissed it right then and there. If the court instead rescheduled the hearing for another date, you'll have to go again. If the officer fails to show up again, ask the court to dismiss for lack of prosecution. If any officer other than the citing officer shows up, object to the officer's testimony for lack of personal knowledge (because he didn't witness the alleged traffic offense) and hearsay (because testimony would be based on something he read or someone told him). I was in an accident where a car driving down a turning lane hit me while i was doing a u turn and we were both ticketed. Him for illegal use of a lane because there was nowhere for him to make a left turn to and me for failure to yield but the officer that ticketed us told me upon arrival that we would have to wait for a sherrif because of the direction we were traveling. He said that he shouldn't have been dispatched but then still wrote the tickets. Is that enough to get the ticket dropped?

I got a ticket cuz license plate was to faded to me still clearly visible. I think It was just an excuse to find something else. The cop even did the eye contact and said to follow his finger don’t know why he did that when I was pull over for a faded license plate. There was no reason cuz I don’t smoke or drink so clearly he didn’t smell anything. I thought he was going to give me a fixed ticket but no he gave me a ticket.
