I put a limit on how long a break can be. I’ve discovered that if I don’t work on something for more than a month, it’s really hard to get back to. So I just make sure I don’t pass that

I feel this. I'm 32 and figure this is why I didn't sell my music in my 20s. I ended up making a successful Pest Control business instead. It was successful because I JUST DID IT. I wasn't irrationally obsessive about my pest control and I think that's what helped me! I'm going to apply that to my new gamedev journey!

Fearing failure isolates you from success. Remember, it is always better to score 20 outta 100 than 5 outta 7. in the end of the day ratings doesnt matter as much as solid work done, keep the grind up, reece, and everyone else who keep it real.

I had to put off game dev for a while to rebuild my foundation in math. I found that I was struggling with linear algebra and trig so I had to go back and just learn everything from scratch. Without doing that I would have probably just continued to beat my head against the wall whenever some trig came up in my games (Which It always does) now I'm confident and even excited when those issues pop up when I used to run away and play Apex legends instead

Great video. My goal is not to create "the perfect RPG" but rather work every week on my RPG and polish it on the way. Obviously, as developers, we need to draw the line somewhere and you could spend decades on a project without ever releasing it just because there are always things you can make slightly better. Let us not forget why we are here in the first place: to enjoy making games.

Make sure you cross your T's and dot your I's when dealing with user contributions. You have to get their names and signatures, parents signatures if they're under 18, and some kind of legal waiver mumbo jumbo so they can't sue for a portion of your proceeds.

I am currently making a game basically it is about a land where humans and monsters lived together as equals before something stole everyone's chi (chi for humans is the power of mother nature in them empowering everything about them and for monsters it is the thing that holds all good emotions) and cause the monsters to nearly devastate the now-weak humans to extinction. You play a tribal boy aged 12 and you for whatever reason had a weak chi in you. You are the one who will give everyone their chi back.

I hope this isn't too close to yours I've only really just heard about monster tribe from a friend (really cool game btw) and my game (no name for it yet lol) is pretty similar in terms of combat :(
