This made me cry, something about how she acted it was absolutely phenomenal. This kind of pain and trauma hurts coming out, Im amazed at how well she captured it

The fact that this film was not nominated for an Oscar shows how much the Oscars suck. This film was one of the best films of the last few years.

This is an Oscar worthy performance by Sidney Flanigan. Incredibly subtle, but it's heartbreaking.

@@ggthewhale Respectfully disagree. A lot of the scene is dependent on what Autumn says with her face and eyes without blatantly giving anything away. Flanigan spoke IMAX level volumes with how they used their expressions without explicitly giving anything away (i.e. who the abusive partner who impregnated Autumn was).

And yet the film didn't garner A SINGLE Oscar nomination. "Best Actress" and "Best Screenplay"? No? REALLY? One of the BEST MOVIES of 2020.

In my book, it was the best film of 2020 and was needlessly shafted in favor of the "hot button topic of the week" film from the same studio that was flashier.

The acting is so natural I wouldn't be surprised if they actually shot this movie Guerilla style with a real social worker. The actresses IMDB only lists one other credit.

She was a real social worker. There's a good interview with the director and cast on the Build Series channel where they mention it.

@@brennur3731 the question didn't ask have you been slapped in an abusive way or repeatedly. It literally said if you been slapped or abused as if slapping someone is abuse. In a situation it could be but by law a slap can't even constitute as assault so idk why they're trying to group it with abuse
