It’s sad but I guess unsurprising that some perceived this film to have some kind of anti-men agenda. If you’re a woman, then you know what it’s like to be leered at/objectified by men in some way. No, not ALL men do this, but every woman has a story. The point of having creepy men in this film was to show what it’s like for women to have to navigate the patriarchy, and I think the film got that point across beautifully.

Exactly! Not all men are creepy, but enough of them are that it’s a constant battle for women from too young an age.

@J B You’re entitled to your thoughts, but from the numerous reviews of this movie I’ve read (by both men and women) the portrayal of men was never mentioned as a drawback

I agree, but I know plenty of women who think that all men are that way unfortunately. 😔

honestly, every man has potential to be creepy.

I am not a huge fan of Helene's cinematography but I loved her work for this film.

Aside from the main plot line there is a strong 'men suck' theme in this movie.

that was the only problem i had with the movie but it was still a fascinating movie

Well a lot of men do suck. As someone who, while I didn’t have an abortion, took a friend to a clinic to have one. I don’t hate men but it’s incredible how realistic this movie is without saying it out loud. It shouldn’t be this hard to be a female in America no matter your age.

@@danabarry81 this movie isn’t realistic at all tho... yes there are bad men out there but so are women. this shouldn’t be an argument it’s just true. this movie is making it seem like 100% all men are like this. not one good men popped up in the film
@justaride773 жыл бұрын
@@spiritualohgeesy2028 maybe the point of showing the men in the movie as mostly jerks was to illustrate why female bonds are important as the two main characters have to rely on each other in a male-dominated word, not to make the point that all men are bad. As a viewer I didn’t come away from this movie thinking all men are bad. No I didn’t have the same experiences as the characters in the film, but the harassment, both subtle and explicit, felt very real. and not all female characters in the film were good or supportive (the woman at the anti-choice center, Autumn’s mom who doesn’t seem that involved in her daughter’s life)

I didn't get that at all. I don't think you watched the movie. The guy in New York was not such a bad guy. The Metro guy was not a bad guy.
