This is good advice. I was bullied repeatedly most of my life. My dad was my worst bully in that he loved to repeatedly put me in embarrassing situations just for laughs. I developed a deep resentment for him until he died. As a result, I have very little patience for that type of nonsense. I still struggle with this. Last year, these guys repeatedly provoked me. I almost gave in to my anger. However I decided to use it for good and write a book about bullying and I’m halfway through finishing it.

Sometimes you hurt yourself also by misinterpreting what people say and sticking to your assumptions about their intentions. I think that people can hurt you intentionally it’s true but there are also cases where they haven’t a clue about the impact of their words and would be shocked if they knew. People should always be given a chance to defend themselves. Talking things out is better than silence or sulking like a baby. We all hurt each other since we are human and react differently and sometime inappropriately to things that are said. This is due to past hurts and insecurities that others are mostly unaware of. Discussion is the key but if the other person won’t engage that is the time to drop it and walk away. Too many problems are left fester over years because some people prefer to stew on their hurts instead of attempting to make peace.

SELF-CONTROL one of the powerful fruit of the spirit. I most definitely agree by looking at the perspective of what someone else is going through and just show them love and don't even be bothered with what they did to you was wrong trust me I'm so glad that I've learned that lesson, I will always keep that in practice until it comes naturally where is I don't need to respond. FOCUS ON THE LESSON DON'T DROWN ON THE HURT I AGREE JUST SHOW LOVE APOSTLE PAUL SAID LOVES A BOUND IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE IT'S ALL ABOUT BEING KIND IS ALL ABOUT HELPING SOMEONE ELSE AND GIVING GOD ALL THE GLORY AND HONOR AND PRAISE 🙋🏿

Denzel's advice on staying composed is so inspiring! Not reacting when hurt is a true sign of strength and self-control. It’s a reminder that we hold the power over our emotions. How do you all deal with people who try to bring you down?

@@sheridavis5555 That's a great point! It's so important to protect our emotional boundaries and not give others the power to control how we feel. The more we keep our "buttons" hidden, the more we can maintain control over our reactions. How do you personally manage to keep your emotions in check?

If you don't react to someone who hurt you, they'll think you're fine with it. They'll take it for granted. Then they'll keep hurting you. The best way to deal with people who hurt you is by hurting them back. React a little is worse than no react, they think you are weak. You need to react fiercely.
