if you want to run all the advanced features of wifi, split the wifi, smart devices have low powered wifi adaptors that dont like the advanced features of high speed wifi, and you will continual fight with smart devices dropping out.

Interesting and although I’m not qualified to say one way or another, it’s good to hear an alternative perspective. According to David, splitting is never a good idea. Could you give some examples of some of the advanced features that you’re talking about?

@@AutomatedHome this is with an asus high powered ax router, haveing ax/wifi 6 mode on, constantly had wifi connection problems with my smart devices, had no issues with high powered wifi devices like phones and laptops and tvs. also smart connect was an issue, the devices i had issue with 6 smart light switchs 1 solar inverter 2 shelly devices and 2 different robot vaccums 2 aircon units 2 wifi cams garmin smart scale all devices worked flawlessly as soon as i went to a plan jane wifi network 2.4g without advanced features turned on.
