I got about 20 days on the proto slinger last season with the same atlas bindings. TJ is spot on as usual. I bought it for park progression but had an injury early on that made me rethink my goals for the sport. I rode this board very hard through the rest of the season in just about every terrain available and it really was impressive. Is there better for any specific type of riding, I'm sure, but it was just so much fun anywhere I took it and I didn't need to take any other boards with me. The board can lay over a carve and you can lick the snow if you want, or lean back and wheelie the entire downhill. Mogul fields are a blast but you'll feel a bit more of the late afternoon chop where a stiffer board would be better, but by that time my legs are gone anyways. I'll be starting this season on this board again and then will try out the 22 proto ultra limited and 19 swift I picked up during the summer. Here's to an awesome season everyone 🍺🤙

Hey TJ, met you last year on Flyer and chatted about the new Atlas. How would you compare this board to the Proto Type 2? I have been riding that board for sometime and everytime I try something else (Proto Ultra, Mercury etc), I keep coming back to it. I think it's the most versatile board they made and wish they kept it in the line.

I have the PT2 and the Proto Slinger. PS is noticeably softer and more flexible, but still has the familiar Never Summer reliability and construction. 100% agree the PT2 board is their most versatile board. The Proto Synthesis is the evolution of the PT2, but when I demoed it last year it was slightly stiffer than the PT2 and, to me, took some time to find enjoyable. All that being said, you can’t go wrong with the Proto Slinger if you’re looking for a soft or park-centered board.

Everything listed in this board is in pretty much every other board. Different companies just give them different names. Neversummers are heavy but durable boards

i tried a bunch of boards today, and this one was far and away the lightest feeling one of the bunch. dunno if it actually IS lighter than others like it, but it FELT a lot lighter.

why does your board have a red base ? The 2023 Prot Slinger should have a black/white base.

I ordered this board and opened it yesterday and my base doesn’t look like advertised either! I watched this video to see if his base looked normal. My base is white and blue, with the word “Never” in blue on a white base, and the word “Summer” in black on a blue base!

Seems like a real fun board! I love it that you always keep the same tune for the board reviews. It makes them feel familiar and cosy even though it's a different board every time, if you know what I mean (sure it's a timesaver as well)
