Nov. 28, 2022 💙 Thank you, friend Scotty, I already understand so much more about the Infiniti G35 S. Going to the dealer has felt wrong after they bilked me out of $3.5k+ “for a sunroof assembly plus labor,” but when it needed at most the drain tube(s) cleared. Having discovered the actual guy cleaning the right side drain (behind passenger dashboard) as I had to leave the car there with them over the weekend. The Infiniti needs another oil change at a good mechanic’s place. My back won’t permit me to get under the car, drat it. Also, it’s almost 58k miles, and changing the tranny fluid & filter might be a thoughtful move, as long as it doesn’t yet have wear on the parts that could cause slipping with hee transmission fluid. Very thankful for YOU! Have a great day! Sincerely, K.H. in So. CA. 🌲🌿🕊😂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely loved my 2010 matrix FWD and got 30 ish MPG And I got 350k miles on original engine and transmission At exactly 350k miles the torque converter went out and it was going to cost more then the car I drove it from Laconia NH to CT 3 days a week..6 hrs both ways. It only left me stranded twice ! 1st tims it was cuz of the alternator at 280k miles was told it was the original And 2nd time was when the torque converter gave out at 350k I also had a problem with the abs and VRC and stability control lights were all on at the same time..and they would go on/off randomly but car didn’t run any different..the dealer said I needed a new computer and wanted $1,800 I said I’ll live with the lights on…lol Then one day they turned off and never came back on..after being on/off for 4 months .. I've found rust actually does the most damage on the front & rear subframes rather than the frame or in the case of a unibody construction, the undercarriage. Worst part is, you can't really apply any rustproofing to those areas because many of the working and moving parts are attached to them.

Hey Scotty or anyone with the 2009-2010 1.8L Toyota Engine, can anyone recommend how to fix the known issue of a cold start rattle in the 1.8L's? My 2010 Vibe makes a nasty rattle on cold start only. I've read the intake VVT-i gear takes a sec to build enough oil pressure to lock the gear for normal operating mode. I'm curious if anyone has got this issue fixed permanently, the only solution I've seen is to stretch the VVT-i locking spring to reduce the amount of oil pressure needs to lock. This seems like a temp fix as the spring will wear again. Any advice is welcome, thanks!

My friend's wife drove his Corolla through a flooded street, ignored a cop trying to direct her another direction (going home after long nursing shift at 2AM) and floated the car. Cop rescued her and told her she should have obeyed his directing! I went with him the next day and car wouldn't start. Not hydrolocked, it cranked. Insurance totalled it.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving in the United States. Mr. Kilmer, what are your opinions on a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT hatchback coupe with the 3.8 L V6 engine and the five-speed automatic transmission with sport mode, a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz Limited AWD mid-size crossover with the 3.8 L V6 engine and the six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability and a 2015 Infiniti Q50 AWD compact or mid-size sedan with the 3.7 L V6 engine and the seven-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability? I heard that the Eclipse with the V6 and the Veracruz are great vehicles in reliability, but the Q50 could be a lot more reliable. For starters, it is most likely the Veracruz crossover or the Eclipse coupe. For experienced drivers, the newer Infiniti model will be the best option, which is the Q50 with AWD sedan. I hope you have any additional answers, sooner or later. Thank you very much.

With that stock radio, I’m guessing one or both of the knobs are broken. Just fixed mine (volume) today. Notorious little problem, but there are lots of options to fix it. (2010 Vibe)

The Matrix, The Auris, the Corolla, the iM, (the Pontiac Vibe?????) the this and that- all over the world they had SO many hatchbacks that were Corollas at heart, so I understand why they unified it as "Corolla Hatchback" AAAAALL over the world. Also 7:48 the codes were afraid of Scotty so the engine decided "You know what, turns out I feel fine"

I remember when my father had a 78 Corolla Hatchback, and I think it had a wood grain steering wheel!! I think it had the 1.8 liter engine. Secretly he wanted a bigger car though so he traded it in for a Ford Gran Torino which had a 302 in it!!

Ghost codes on a toyota, I've seen that all too many times. The common problem is the crankcase gets haunted, somehow Poltergeist gets in there and starts playing with things. Not too bad to handle, you just need a priest, all set

I will drive it then sell it. That is me. In 2000 I bought a 99 Corolla as a commuter because my Tahoe was killing me in gas. Meh, I drive it until it starts costing money to keep it running. It is currently at 199,000 miles and other than tires and maintenance all it has ever needed was an alternator at 150,000 and a set of plug wires. After I foolishly used a self serve car wash pressure washer to clean the engine. Even then it was only because at 101,000 it ran really crappy before the dealer told me don't flood the spark plug holes again. The dealer mechanics I asked said that most of the major repairs they see are transmissions. But only because most people forget to do the fluid change/ maintenance on them.
