@skyak44933 жыл бұрын
@@wilmaknickersfit I don't think the owner of this home can afford it either -he needs to rent it part time to pay the bills. Solutions, not excuses -I like it! I have the money and will not live in a home that puts the bathroom a flight of stairs away from my bed. In another post under this video I pointed out that by volume, the bathroom in this house is large and any rational person would use that upper volume for an up stairs bathroom. But that would be far less impressive in photos and video. The bath in this home is a work of art and it does make sense to just have one bath to clean in a rental. I most envy how easy this home is to clean. I hope I didn't come across as snobbish talking about the cost. There are just sooooo many comments saying "I could see myself living there". I can't help wondering, is it because it's a $7000/mo lifestyle upgrade?

A very interesting and quite good revamp of the original layout, I enjoyed viewing it. I really do think it’s designed for short term living so the architect met the owner’s requirements. You would need to add more storage to live in it full time, which looks doable, but again that wasn’t the stated goal. I do love the Courtyard doors, as well as the new staircase. I’d like to see some artwork on the wall, the esthetic is too minimalist for my taste, but I don’t live there.

First time that i see a small space/house that actually feels good to live in. Most small spaces/houses that i see either have no provisions for the laundry, the bathroom feels awkward, the living room feels too small and the kitchen is lacking. But this however, the bedroom feels comfortable to sleep in and the study feels good to do things at, the kitchen with the courtyard feels very homey and still looks good, the bathroom looks good as well and actually has natural lighting (i think), and the laundry being inside is quite perfect especially during rainy seasons, the living room is very aesthetically pleasing and doesn't feel too crowded.

there are plenty of short throw projector nowadays. I guess they just like TV quality screen better, and it fits with being an airbnb home. most people dont know how to to work a projector IMO
@EricaGamet3 жыл бұрын
Being a rental, a projector won't give you the options the guests would need. A TV with apps/the ability to use your own streaming logins is far more versatile. Also, the cost of a projector bulb is INSANE and those things can go at any minute. I had to replace mine once and it was $400! The TV gives the option of watching in a brighter room than just the cinema experience they were after.
@dewdroppedrose3 жыл бұрын
There’s also still a ton of light during the day with those white walls, so a projector wouldn’t look as good as a tv in that circumstance. Unless blackout curtains are used in there, but not everyone likes watching daytime tv in darkness (can mess up your circadian rhythm). I wouldn’t want ONLY a projector for that reason. If it were a solely cinema room i’d go for the projector. A projector screen can still be (relatively) unobtrusively added that would pull down in front of the tv.
@skyak44933 жыл бұрын
The real answer is that this is a commercial rental. Projectors are too easy to screw up. Did you notice that there is hardly any furniture and all of it can be hosed off?

Though there were elements such as the wood, white walls and outdoor space that I liked more than a bit, I found myself thinking that the interior design was trying too hard to be striking, dynamic or clever--especially the upstairs. Seems to me that external structure and location asks for something plain and understated-a la updated fisherman's cottage. Not fond of the black surfaces either.

I'm confused how the area is being calculated. Never would I consider this place only 44sqm, are we talking about interior design space or footprint space? I’d like to see costs associated with these things. Also, too many of these aren’t designed for people to live in the space year round. This doesn’t seem to be the person’s only home. They bought a cheap house as a way to make money on Airbnb and sometimes they stay in it. They use it so little that when they couldn’t rent it out to others they gave it up for free to first responders … because they weren’t going to be there. How usable does the space need to be if you’re there for a few days or a couple weeks at a time? Very different from being there every day and all the time.
