Tbf, the subtitle font is very tiny and can easily blend in at a point in the game where there was a lot of info dump going on. I wonder if it’d be easier to read if they were the only customers in the cafe for that small portion of the game, or if it was better to have the girls having that dialogue at some point later in the game, such as when the player character was on her way to the bus stop? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

in case literally anyone cares: the "nihongo jozu" thing. basically the guy's a foreigner, but he's obvs fluent in japanese. usually japanese people will say "nihongo wa jouzu desu" (your japanese is good!) to foreigners who can speak it, but he's saying "bro you don't gotta tell me, i've been living here for 15 years."

"Nihongo jozu" basically means that "you speak Japanese well." The guy ordering coffee said he lived there for 15 years, so he was a foreigner speaking Japanese. Many times when you're a foreigner living here in Japan and speaking Japanese, you'll hear that a lot, regardless of how long you've lived here or how good your Japanese is. That's why he was saying that you don't "need to nihongo jozu me." He's heard it many times already.
