I'll be honest, I don't get ill from Golden Corral more than I do at eating at like say a Taco Bell. But then again I think I've only been to better kept ones. When I'm down to my last $15 and need a meal or two, I will go to a GC, take my laptop with me and hang out in the corner somewhere not bothering people. Then again, I might just be at the rare good ones. Both I have been to regularly in Orlando seem fine by me. It's just a retirement village type of restaurant though. If I'm going to a buffet now and if I have more money on hand and want to treat myself, I will go to KPot. They don't care if I set up with my laptop for a few hours ether.

As a person who unironically likes Golden Corral and willingly goes 4-6 times a year, this GC experience is sadly expected. I hope your tummies and fortitudes have mostly recovered. Like others have mentioned, plenty of casinos nationwide have buffets. As for the ones in Vegas, they can go up to $100 per person because of all the seafood and premium foods. If you just want chicken wings and carbs, you can find $20 buffets though they are off "the strip."
