I went to my local Golden Corral a few times when I was a little kid, then for the next 15 years or so after we just never went back. I just assumed that we had a bad time and the food was bad or something and my parents didn't want to go back. I think about a year ago, I asked about the Golden Corral and my dad turns to me and says "oh the golden corral? The owners were arrested for money laundering like 10 years ago, its been closed ever since". The signs are all up still, I just never knew. Truly Golden Corral is one of those liminal spaces where the weirdest thing can happen and you just say "yeah that checks out"

The funniest thing about this for me, is that I'm still behind on Breakfast Stream VOD's; so I've only recently come across the discussion of taking Brandon to Golden Corral from MONTHS ago. Once I heard Tom and Dan talk a bit about it on Disc Only, I knew I had to watch this VOD ASAP when it popped up in my notifications. 😂😂😂

Brandon........... I wasn't even there. I've never even been to a Golden Corral before. But I'm sorry you had to experience that because a certain someone decided that this is what you're gonna take away from your birthday this year. On another note: I don't even know what to point out. Why does it feel like these kinds of experiences are somewhat universal at American restaurants/cafeterias/diners/whatever-the-balls? I've been to an IHOP once. There was a fight that went on there 'round back, too. My ex and I were thankfully about done with our meal at the time so we just packed up, went up to the front, paid, and left ASAP. It was a little horrifying as a European to experience what I've read about on the 'net for so long.

It's nice that there's an ocean between me and every Golden Coral that exist bc my stomach is an unruly beast without sating it at the Horror Eatery. I am safe and I sleep peacefully at night, not worrying about the fear of natural selection buffet grabbing me by the neck.
