Classes have been picked up and shaken so much they are hardly recognizable. Today I want to go through the class that I used mostly on closed beta - the Ranger of course and talk you through it.

After doing some intro quests, I think they are trying to return to the "ultimate adventure" stuff they did with the maze engine, where everyone you met in the previous campaigns and deeds will gather together to defeat some great evil

So far, I'm not impressed with the HR on preview. Taking a heck of a lot more damage and dealing much less than I used to. I'll have to wait for someone to come out with a good build though before I make final judgement, I'm sure I messed a few things up. The sad thing is that my DC was doing better than my HR, utilizing both healing and dps loadouts....

Barbarian needs and will get a buff yea.. Also, do note that my Ranger is by no mean built correctly... didnt swap out enchantments yet so my accuracy is really bad

Warden is not more trapper. Hunter has all snare buffs as far as i see.

Trapper as in fast paced encounter only combat with grasping roots is what I call trapper :-) and warden has AotS and the cooldown reduction feats

Will there be an updated ranger build ? Mod 16 just dropped for us today and I'm lost 😭 I'm 20.4k item level and have bis gear as well

Haven't really gotten to it, but I will try to do it soon. Most importantly for gear: use the gear you had before mod16, but swap out the dex gear for demo set. The % bonusses still seem to be best. Other details I'll make available later. But yea, don't throw away your old gear ;-)

to my calculation, melee ranger losses about 1/3 of their damage, ignoring crit cap as it effect every class. Which really isn’t too bad compared to GWF. I don’t know enough about TR and CW but it seems like they don’t lose much dps, possible even not at all.

All classes lose a fair share of DPS, but the game is tuned around this change. The biggest difference is not in solo content but in multi content, since mass buffing/debuffing is gone. The whole mass buffing/debuffing made it so that the devs HAD TO make stupidly hard encounters and that made it so that you almost HAD TO run a buffing/debuffing party to mitigate the stupid damage some enemies did. Now content doesn't have to be "debuff or die" anymore, forcing the multi-support meta onto us

Will you be doing a video covering insignia bonuses? I just had a quick look and a lot seem like they will be effected. Assassins Covenant - will the Life Steal stat be replaced by Evasion? Vampires Craving currently triggers off of Life Steal. Artificer's Persuasion currently provides Recovery. Cavalry's Warning provides additional Recovery, Regeneration and Life Steal... EDIT: And another thing I haven't heard mentioned is what happens to the Legendary Bonus from companions. I spent a lot of AD getting all my companions to Legendary just for the bonus. Most of them the equip bonus doesn't even change from Epic to Legendary.

Legendary bonus for companions is in my latest video on companions. It's changed to a bolster bonus with a max of 35%

@@RainerNW Cool. Felt a bit ripped off when I upgraded my Epic Razorwood (25% Combat Advantage and 2.5% Critical Severity) to Legendary and ended up with, drum roll, 25% Combat Advantage and 2.5% Critical Severity.

Uhm sounds like that is on live... in mod16 the current bonus is "+3 Null and +1500 Accuracy" at epic ;-)

Give it a chance. I play a 15K now and after trying it on preview I'm having no trouble running the character. Still almost using encounters only and still killing as easy as I had been.

You are making a fair point here. Storm strike I think works off INT. I need to do some testing here to see what is better.

HR and CW actually both look pretty good at the moment. Can change from patch to patch right now though so hard to give solid advice on this

Not sure if you're talking to me but I am supporting the devs as much as I can. The pocket-wiki is the biggest visible factor in how I try to help. I keep it up to date and mark everything that's broken in there. I even have a bug tracker in there in which I track which bugs are still in the game.... If you are not talking to me then, I agree :P I just hope they take the time to finish the mod before releasing it to live

I dont like the Paragons. The synergy does not look good. They tried to make two paths that are capable of Archery, Combat and Trapper but it fails in comparison to the present game. They are taking a step backwards. No path does anything better than before. But I guess that was the point, to nerf the fuck out of the HR.

Everything is toned down a bit indeed - but in a couple of weeks damage will go back up again... rollercoaster ;-)

I heard crit sev is capped at 100% so vorpal isnt gonna be that good is that true?

Crit sev is not capped as far as I know

Mini I think you got confused with crit strike. Crit strike is capped at 50% (after subtracting crit resist of enemy)

You cant say vorpal is better. Did you read the tool tip? The crit severity bonus is only activated when you use a daily and its only active for 10 seconds after. From looking at the class features Rangers dont get any feats that give a significant boost to AP gain. So you are wrong. Vorpal got seriously nerfed to the point where it may only be useful on a class with faster AP gain.

@@Hereticninja7 I just started a hr but there is a daily which only eats about 33% of your ap... and you can cast it every 10sec to refresh buff. Like I said, I just started it, and am still learning... but if you are using that daily, ap gain isnt an issue

I really liked the trapper playstyle... and to be honest - I find the new hybrid comat/trapper pretty nice to play :) build video will be made when all the changes have settled down a bit.
