I think we either need crossplay or serious new content to bring new players, because there are barely enough players on PC to fill all game modes on all regions. For example, I find it nearly impossible to find FFA games in USA servers. 5-15+ minute queue time, and then you will be lucky if all the players stay for the entire match. But the moment I change to EU I get instant FFA queues and the lobby is always at least half full. Depending on how strong console aim assist is I think crossplay would be better than playing with 120ms ping for most players. For me though, I already have aimbot-like aim so bring them on 😁

Good take! The game has so much potential but the current developers and budget just won't allow this game to ever grow to its best version... Maybe we'll get a completely new game in the future, I hope at least!

Sandstorm really needs some new guns and maps. Personally I'd like PPSh 41 to be in this game as well as MP40 (which was already present in Insurgency 2014), PP-91 Kedr (or other modification) and PP-19-01 Vityaz, Bizon is an option but it didn't actually get much use in real life. PP-2000 could be an interesting addition as well. And of course more modern stuff like B&T APC-9 or MP-9. And on the topic of rifles, something from Sig like the MCX. On the topic of maps, there are still quite a lot of good maps from 2014 Insurgency missing and there's still no official Hunt gamemode which I personally miss quite a lot.

The aim assist argument is not really a valid one btw. A good player can be a good player regardless if he plays with mouse and keyboard or gamepad. I play with mouse and keyboard and i got wrecked more then once by players who use gamepads without aim assist. It all comes down to experience nothing more.

Thats like saying that the 5'5" guy is going to beat up the guy much taller and stronger than him... yeah with experience it can definitely happen but the bigger guy will nevertheless always have an unfair advantage. When comparing these sort of things you always need to compare the averages.. Average M&K player will always have the upper hand against your average console player! However, a poorly optimized aim assist will always give console players the upper hand.. Aim assist can be done right, but most of the time it ends up being awful.

Aim assist has no business being in a hardcore game with almost no hud, crosshairs or any type of enemy indicators. Or it would have to be severely limited to avoid it trying to lock onto enemies the player might have not even noticed.

@@JereZiii If you're talking about a R* game then yes but most games only give you what the name suggests: a slight assist to compensate for the disadvantage of using joysticks, Sandstorm in particular has next to no assist, i don't remember a single time where i've made a hit thanks to it

Id love to see a bug fix for the problem where you cant see the model of your guns when you start a new match. Idk how common this is but its made me basically give up on sandstorm. I start almost every match getting killed one to three times at least just because my gun doesnt spawn in.

@@JereZiii Wedneday's and Tuesday's have been fairly common days for bigger updates to release in the past if I'm remembering correctly. Though, a lot has changed in the last year so that template may not be appropriate anymore. I would think it's easier to release mid-week, then you have a few days to patch if necessary before the weekend.

There is aim assist, but it is so incredibly slim and it is a “slowdown” which basically means when your crosshair goes over an enemy it lowers your sensitivity.

I personally like the idea of crossplay between consoles and PCs. A whole new playerbase to VS with, but I get your point on aim assist. As a game dev myself, I think a soft aim assist can be possible to balance out the mobility advantage from PCs. With the game state as it is, I feel like a more community driven approach will be the next big thing to get more players on the game until their new shooter comes out.
