It says cav combat ability stacks with every mongol brother realm so you can just click the event lose land intentionally in those regions then have 20 permanent cav combat ability from 2 opms

One thing I did when I played Mongols, some years ago, was to try and have a "civilized" empire, abandoning the idea of being a horde, without getting the Celestial Empire. It was a nice ride, although a very hard one.

The best methodology for early independence I've found is to improve relations with the Ming. They will support you due to their vital interest on all Oirat land (but not yours, interestingly.) The best part about this is that it gives you a truce because the Support Independence converts into an alliance. So you can do the following: Improve Relations with Ming Get them to support your independence in roughly May of 1446. Fight the War Immediately declare on someone else. Core Qaraqorum Accept Tributary demand if you're not ready for war yet. Because you were allied, you have a truce. This prevents them from declaring war for Tributary whilst you're in the second war.

One strat I never see used it to take Oirat/Mongolia into Japan through the northern island and conquering everything. Lots of loot, quite a lot of mana razing, decent trade note and almost no real resistance as they're always fighting each other. Very low effort with high reward.

You would need a fleet, even when crossing via Sakhalin. Also the gains are really not that much, Japan is very poor in dev compared to Korea, China and India. Also not much of strategic gains from it

It's true that its not as rich as Korea or China (not nearly), but with maybe 20k troops you can conquer the whole island in a few wars, razing as you go. I often do that whenever I hit some truce wall, or if I can spare some troops. On strategic gains not really being a thing, you're probably right. But the small sacrifice vs the gains always makes it worth it to me. Oh also! Access to Shinto for the Tengri faith. Unrest and discipline modifier!

And then just speed 5 while your priests convert everything (and swap something for religious ideas for more conversions)
