@@darkshadowsfansunite8140 Hey, I think all of the loyal and steadfast DS fans from the show’s original airing, in addition to the DS newbies, will be commenting, opining and even kvetching until we reach episode 1245 (?), when PT Ben Stokes confuses the ordinary animal bite on Melanie Collins’ neck with the bite of a vampire.

13:55 - David accuses Hallie of eavesdropping, then Hallie accuses David of the same thing. 14:47 - Barnabas has been eavesdropping on Hallie and David. I think that eavesdropping is a pastime in the Collins family! I'm enjoying this new storyline! ~Janet in Canada

I only see Barnabas and Julia doing the most work at attempting to prevent the future catastrophe of Collinwood Am I the ONLY one who noticed that Barnabas changed suits between his time at both Collinwood and at the cemetery with Julia and his talk with Quentin in his room? 0:56-1:27 how Robert Cobert never won any Emmys/Grammys for Dark Shadows (or an Academy Award for House of Dark Shadows) is beyond me. His work on Dark Shadows and other Dan Curtis films/shows he composed/scored rival Akira Ifukube’s scores in the first 41 years (1954-1995) of Toho’s kaiju franchise (Godzilla, Rodan, The Mysterians, Varan, King Kong vs Godzilla, Atragon, Mothra vs Godzilla, Dogora The Space Monster, Ghidorah The Three-Headed Monster, Frankenstein Conquers the World, Invasion of the Astro-Monster, War of the Gargantuas, King Kong Escapes, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs Gigan, Terror of MechaGodzilla, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs Mothra, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II, Godzilla vs Destoroyah) and John Williams’ scores on the Star Wars Skywalker Saga, the Indiana Jones series, the first two Jurassic Park films, Schindler’s List, and the first two Jaws films 5:07 notice the mike’s shadow in Quentin’s room 10:31 notice the mike in the air while Barnabas and Carolyn talk in the drawing room

It's kinda gross that Quentin moved back into his old room. This is where Gregory Trask's body remained for 72 years.

Hallie was so paranoid & upset that someone always keep watching her & thinks that something bad would happen in the future (pending disaster). Poor Carolyn is still grieving about the death of Jeb Hawkes. Barnabas was explaining a story to Quentin about the mystery of the West Wing room that both Barnabas & Julia were trapped in there & ended in the year 1995 time. At least the present 1970 Collins family welcomes both Barnabas & Julia's safe return with the help of the ghost of Carrie. Both Barnabas & Prof. Elliot Stokes will be explaining a story of how he & Julia were trapped in a parallel time & about their journey back to 1970. What will happen next?

During Barnabas's time 1797 there was no playroom in the west wing. yet there was one in 1840.....meaning after Joshua Collins died the playroom was built but later removed before Quentin's life time in 1897......in this clip above Quentin said there is no playroom in the west room and never was.....meaning he was wrong and where the playroom was built then later removed.

You would think that Quentin would have replaced that old Victrola with a state of the art (for 1970) stereo system. And his room really needs some modern furnishings. I guess Quentin kept that ornate wooden box as a memento and reminder of the “beloved” Count Petofi, who tried to switch bodies with Quentin. PS “Uncle Elliott” must have schlepped Hallie off on the Collins family because Elliott’s jittery niece was cramping his own style.

Ok one ☝🏽 more thing; Am I missing something: Is it ever explained A. WHY Quinton was an angry mute ghost in for real, original DS timeline in the first place❓ B. Why he never aged & continued to live all the way through to the for real times at Collinwood? (I assume it has to do with those annoying Roger Davis character paintings🖼️ ). C. Thus, No one’s scared that he’s a ghost man from the 1890s who became a living breathing human amongst them?🤷🏽♀️ [Former werwolf, I guess. Haha ] Feel free to briefly give any insight / clarity .

@BlackPower Diva, Hey 👋, I thought Quintin was originally a zombie when he first appeared on DS. However, it's been many years since I religiously followed this fascinating series. I'm not an original first generation fan of the show, but I did watch it in syndication throughout the years. In answer to your question about the portraits, I think the writers were using ideas from the painting of Dorian Gray, I believe. Here again though I could be mistaken about that. I absolutely love DS. It's one of my many favorite old TV shows. Unfortunately, I can't give you any clarity, but if you can find a copy of the DS Almanac by Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans/Josette duPres on the series) she and fellow cast members give a good explanation of all the episodes, air dates, episode numbers, etc. I sure hope that this helps. Nice to meet you. - The Victrola Lady 🙂

He didn't age because he had a painting of himself that aged for him (Portrait of Dorian Gray). But that only happened after they went back in time and changed certain things. So when he first appeared as a ghost, he was lol

These KZbin storylines are good BUT Very edited and.. there's alot of Details to be seen on the DVDS. Quentin has a Big storyline in 1897.

A. Quentin was a selfish ladies' man but truly cared about his nephew, Jamison. When Quentin moved on from his side lady Beth, she killed him and then herself; but not before Beth's treatment caused Jamison to reject Quentin. Quentin's ghost was left tormented and angry attempting to win Jamison's approval. His ghost was confined to his room, but was released and triggered when his direct descendent, Amy Jennings, contacted his ghost at Collinwood through the old phone they found. He was also pissed that Chris Jennings inherited his curse, so he triggered him into a permanent werewolf that only went back into human form after the past was altered. David originally died and Quentin's ghost felt as if he finally had Jamison's friendship again through David in death. B. Quentin's fate was changed by Barnabas's appearance in 1897 through the I-Ching. Eventually the evil Count Petofi learned of Barnabas's time traveling and sought to escape the gypsies in some fashion, as if they would no longer exist in 1969 or they would lose track of him. This wasn't a well thought out plan. Tate's portrait of Quentin was gifted by Count Petofi's will so that Quentin himself was free of the werewolf curse and also immortal; damage and age transferred to the portrait (like Dorian Gray). Petofi sought to possess Quentin's body in order to get to the future, but that scheme failed. As for Quentin, he stayed away from Collinwood after fleeing in 1897 until the time after Barnabas time traveled from 1969. Perhaps he knew not to interfere with the conditions that led to Barnabas alternating his fate in the first place. C. Upon returning and regaining his memory (another side story), Quentin played it off to the Collins family that he was a direct descendant of the original Quentin who disappeared in 1897. This eased the fear of the children and some of the others who recalled the ghost, like Roger. However this leaves the mystery of what happened to the ghost of Quentin Collins who first appeared to the children in 1968? If a time line is completely linear, the present time should have been altered to where the ghost of Quentin never happened. Barnabas's reason for time traveling would no longer exist, but because his method of travel was a spiritual/astral body transcendence, Barnabas my still recall the original events that led to his time travel even if the world before and after the trip is forever changed. If the change in 1897 created another parallel branch of time, a multi-verse branch of reality, then Barnabas is just living in an alternate reality where David lives and Quentin was never a ghost. No one should remember there being a ghost of Quentin, except again maybe Barnabas. The original time line would be an alternate reality where David is still dead, Chris Jennings is a permanently transformed fulltime werewolf, Quentin is a ghost lording over Collinwood, and Barnabas remains missing. The writers went with neither view completely and are inconsistent as with other time traveling events in the series. Everyone remembers Quentin's ghost although now it never happened. The writers made it so vague and confusing that Immortal Quentin could have probably met his own ghost because his ghost's salvation relied on Barnabas time traveling and the ghost would have been there in 1968-1969 waiting for Barnabas to change his fate via time traveling. However, Quentin living the next 70 years on the way to see the ghost in 1968 erases any origin for a ghost of a dead Quentin from 1897. The show is a mess when it comes to time line consistency.
