I think the 30 amp setting is from the grid not the battery amps. so 240 x 30=7200watts. 7200/48=150 amps to battery. Just an idea.

I have an epever upower HI series all in one inverter (3000 or 5000), i have the 3000. Its a pretty good inverter and cost me £550 which is very cheap. Only downside is no scheduled charging from grid and lack of any bluetooth. So i use a shunt (junctek 140f) and contacts to turn on and off charging at cheap rate via wifi smart plug. Would be a good one to review.. Best for the money imo, i looked at them all.

I'm just a beginner I built a pretty decent little 12 volt system but now I'm trying to go 48 volt. I already made mistakes. Not looking in enough videos and then purchasing things thinking that I took two weeks investigating I needed to take 2 months investigating. And watching more KZbin. Facebook stuff doesn't work they don't give you the right info. I love these videos from this young man he's so smart. Maybe not fun for you but situations like this are sort of best case scenario in terms of the value of your 'product' as a reviewer because it has the potential to avert a huge amount of frustration among your viewers, and beyond. By word of mouth, their combined reach is probably pretty massive and im sure yours and their influence on the entire population of first time buyers is notable. I think people who assemble or repair things for a living will just take this for what it is and wait for a positive update, but to have a cantankerous product like this end up in the hands of a true newbie runs the risk of derailing someone's entire interest in the subject. Impossible to assess stuff like this from an online spec sheet. Your work is very much appreciated!!

It's really a game changer to be able to set charging times as electricity rate are varying during the day there ( France ) . Thanks . Point stand I miss the ability to feedback the grid as it could help the neighborhood in case a failure the grid ... I know where to disconnect from the higher voltage and would have been able to use the wiring in case a real ... need . At least during the day ... They are much friendlier on the solar side of the installation, and with more standards coming out like frequency watt control they are quite adaptable for grid tie and grid down use cases. I was excited about your last 2 videos as I am looking for a more cost effective solution for Grid Interactive than Sol-Ark that will also work with a large Nickel Iron Battery I just bought. These 2 units were high on my list of capabilities on paper but if you can't get it to function as it should I am not sure what hope I have. The third option I am looking at is the Schneider Conext XW PRO 6.8KW Hybrid Inverter/Charger | 48V 120/240V. Its a bit pricier and I am not sure if it supports sending power back to the grid. I have my Interconnect Agreement right now with Solaredge but I am trying to figure out the best way to AC Couple another inverter that will allow me to use a 48V 1200aH Nickel Iron Battery. My main goal is to make it through the night with import. I have already cut my electric bill in half my goal is to get it to 0 or as close as I can. Keep up the good work.

While this device is beyond my current needs, generally, I'm willing to deal with programming difficulties if the product will eventually work properly. After all, programming is usually not altered often once accomplished. The uncontrolled DC charging output I find very concerning. At best, it might trip a BMS or a fuse. I don't like to think about the worst case scenario. But such an issue would render the device completely useless to me.

The lv6548 has a restart setting. But a had I dead short one time on an outdoor receptacle and it wouldn’t reset. I had to cut solar and battery power to it for it to reset.

Just a thought based on some of the ATS switches and UPS systems I used to work with in a data center environment... But why can't these guys just slap in an ethernet port and give these things a web based interface? That'd make things so much easier to work with when configuring and monitoring.

Will, great information here as this unit is a candidate for a battery backup solution. Can you share what connection I would need for a whole-house solution and would I need to use a transfer switch. I'm assuming in UPS mode, I would not need a transfer switch?

I like the trend of PV inputs going with higher voltages. It'll just be really interesting the first time someone barbecues themselves with it though. Since it's the holidays... chestnuts roasting, on an open fire...

Thx for informative video. At 1st glance, considering price and capability, I was very interested. After seeing this vid, The EG4 12K may be the best option. I doubt these companies even have software engineers. Most likely, they use the generic software from the component maker. If you have your equipment anywhere close to where you live or sleep, noise is a major issue. If you get frustrated easily, a good software menu is worth the money.

Hi Will, I have the inverter with the same screen. Did you limit the Total Input current in 02 section (solar + utility)? Looks like you’ve limited the Utility current only w/o solar, thats why the unlimited current moved to the battery due to hight solar power at that moment. Could this be the reason?

I am interested in using export limiting so I can feed power directly from solar panels to my 240v Air Conditioner. My utility simply does not compensate me enough for exported energy and during the summer, my AC can run an hour at a time. What I would like to do is get a 240v DC system like the Growatt and tie the 240 output directly to the 240v junction for the AC, then put the current limiters upstream of the junction so that all of the current goes to the AC when it is running and nothing goes back to the house input panel when the AC is not running. Could you do a video on export limiting that would kind of show how I could do this?

I just bought this inverter and going to use it as a grid tied with battery back up. Novice question My sub panel is fed by a 90 amp 240v. Am wondering if this is too much for the ac input for the inverter

Hi Will, You have some terrific content. Do you have any MTBF (Meantime before failure) ratings for the equipment (inverters, automatic transfer switches, etc) that you are demonstrating? I am going to put together my own system based on my requirements (the all-in-one systems do not meet my requirements), and there are alot of moving parts (well electronic, that is). Being that many of the components are manufactured in China, are they reliable? That is, do I need to source spare component equipment incase of failure to ensure that I can get the same parts for drop in replacement? My main requirement is for home power outages (8KW, 120Vac, 60amp - 70amp max) Thanks, Steve
