If you directly connect tesla wall charger, what do you do with the neutral not being used? Does inverter has neutral ground bonded?

Wait what: 2.29 Just watched both your videos re Grounding / Earthing / Bonding / Floating and here you have me with wanting to ground SOLAR PANELS!? Why? What is the logic behind this as protection from lightning we now know is not going to justify this? Or is this a government requirement / insurance / regulatory compliance case?

I see people combine 4 12v batteries to make a 48v. Sometimes 8 12v can you explain how 8 is not more then 48v

I'm setting up a 40 foot panel array attached halfway down the side of a high cube shipping container, painted white for maximum reflectivity, with plains to add a reflector on the ground in front of the panels as well. Putting the reflectors above and below the entire array, eliminate any need to adjust them, and should constantly boost my output.

He said he had one flip on the rack and the wire reached and he said he would not recommend but I’m thinking that’s possibly a good way to pick up slack but maybe it could damage the wire at the panel maybe I don’t think that would be a problem

Can someone PLEASE help me? My daughter lives off grid. She has (2) 100 watt panels, running to a Renogy 100v 50A charge controller. Using (3) LiTime 100ah batteries. 3000 watt Renogy inverter 12v Will running the solar panels in series help charge the batteries faster? I mean running series throws more volts and amps remain the same, so will it throw more current to charge faster? I read on-line that panels should run in series if over 25 ft? I guess a person would want to run the panels that maximizes the use of the controller, as far as I'd have more room for amps on the controller but then we'd have to use thicker wires. So should we really be in parallel for solar?
@brooklyn_autumn
@brooklyn_autumn 9 сағат бұрын
I'll add here, too, that she did just order another panel at 200 watts and another battery. I told her to keep adding a few more batteries but focus more on panels and add another charge controller if she starts to reach the limit

Hey Will , thanks so much for your explanations of solar complexities and how you make them simple. I am planning on a system to feed my 40 ft 5th wheel that has full size fridge , two bathrooms a mini split i installed, with washer and dryer (addl ac in bedroom). The 50 amp plug is a bit hungry compared to the average smaller rv that is happy with 30 amps. I would prefer to plug in to the factory plug rather than do any rewiring of rv. can you do a build program for us that are in this situation? Living off grid in northern az. Lots of sun here. Plan is 16 - 370 watt aptos bifacial wired 48 v. on a white 40 ft white container preferably tilting on both sides 3 ft above the top of the container . tilting helps remove snow in winter. I really like all the eg4 stuff to bring it home. Would a 6000xp and either 3 batteries or one wall mount suffice? Would really like your advice here. Thanks, Carl

Finally bit the bullet since I needed a larger charge controller and bought victron with battery monitor and was wondering about the shunt as I keep looking at it....question is, if you put in 280ah for battery and your battery only actually does 260ah does it adjust that automatically or are you stuck living with false hope of 20ah

Hello Will, I've been listening to your for a several years now, and DUDE are a GREAT TEACHER. your pace and pronunciation is TOP NOTCH. especially for a younger person. It seems many seem to speed talk, and put RIGHT! at the end of each sentance. thank you for all you info. this one struck me as i'm getting ready to put panels on a roof with 2 different facing arrays, 1 S 1 W I did get your booklet a couple years ago and will be studying it prior to full hook up. I have the Blueettie AC 300 & 2 B 300's and haaven't used in 2 years. thanks again Robert

Always remember the best use of money in this space is caulk, expanding foam, insulation and a cheap thermal camera/gun. These steps will prep you to properly size your system.

Why 12V? With motorhomes most of the panels under 200W has voltage range between 20-30 volts. Even 410W panel did give only 30-35 volts so... Electric boat motors have 48V systems, but with old motorhomes or trailers 12V system is just good, no need to rebuild whole system if you change one battery or add solar charger.

I just purchased 4 of these and then came on YT to see your review video and canceled it! Today they have a Lightning Dead of the Day for $181 and regular price is $209. I canceled anyways. I currently have 4 AGM Renogy 100ah batteries and will keep them until they die now. I have only had them for 2 years. Thanks for helping me save money on a battery 🔋 that doesn't have a good build quality. Jeff- Sunny Central Florida

Loving my EG 18K. Its not outside but in a converted garage that does have HVAC. But its so so on clean etc so I liked that was less of a concern for us and not having it in the house. Upgraded from the Growatts I bought a few years ago and just love this inverter so far. Its a beast!

Investigate the "steel stud" system used to build homes and commercial buildings. The studs/plates and tools used to install those might work like this system? I'll have to look into that, including corrosion protection/lifetime.

Just when I think I’m getting even a tiny grasp on the basics of solar there’s so many other curves being thrown at me. 12 vs 24 vs 48….,series vs parallel….dc to dc WITH mppt or mppt and dc to dc separate ….correct wire gauge, breaker and fuse size 🤯. I’m hours upon hours deep into watching videos and reading and feel like I’m back to square one. Geeze!!
