I miss this game so much they had it set perfectly from clan battles to tryouts, holding a button to speak ect. If they ever remaster this game that would be the single handily the reason I buy a playstation again. This is the game that got me into playing multiplayer. Even the glitch lobby's were a blast to mess around in, by far one of if not the best online game for it's time and even today.

@@Oldschool1943 they tried a reboot with Socom 4 and that is where it went wrong. Stick to the normal game and features to bring all the fans back before you reboot. We already have Ghost Recon.

@@spencerclark1780 Same here, I was a young squeaky kid on these games but was in pretty good clans on game battles year in and year out. I made so many friends on those games, way more than I ever made on any game on Ps3, Ps4 and the Xbox. Real friendships were created on that game due to all the interaction and communication you needed in order to win. I also remember the times when gameshark was used. So many glitches and mods that could be exploited lol. I would buy a Ps5 if they remade this game, or make a remake with Socom 2 camera view, mechanics and maps from Socom 1-4

This game started it all for me back in the day, I used to play for like 10 strait hours some nights till the sun came up shiiiit. I remember shooting players that fell asleep at 4 oclock in the morning lol. Loved all the maps even the foggy swamp and that jungle map that everybody hated. Made alot of friends all around the east.

I loved fish hook, crossroads, frostfire, all the breach maps...especially sujo and enowapi. Loved blizzard and requiem...didn't really care for guidance. Loved last bastion and after hours. Loved bitter jungle, death trap, foxhunt and vigilance. Damn I miss this game! Call of duty arcade style play pisses me off! Bring back socom 2!

Biggest mistake Sony Playstation and especially zipper have ever made is abandoning this franchise's fan base. I bought Ps3 just for the new Socom games.. and Socom confrontation was good, Socom 4 was a good game that wasn't Socom. I feel completely OK about migrating to Xbox One and buying Halo Anniversary series (all halo games with multiplayer access in November).. I'm so disgusted. H-hour is going to be mediocre 7/10 AT best.. probably 6/10. No point of waiting around. All they had to do was re-release Socom with better servers and some updated graphic touch ups and most of all a clean 30 FPS steady frame rate, and to remove the known glitches. Patching future glitches would be so easy with the tech stream line capabilities of today and users submitting videos to show the problems in the game if people were cheating I've never seen a game in my life have this much of an underground following as Socom for a series that's supposed to be "done"

check out h-hour by sof studios. its being touted as the 'spiritual successor' to socom 2. it just finished a kickstarter proof of concept demo to show off to investors.. they have a good 20min of gameplay up. if youre going to buy a system, or play it on pc this time around, this would be the socom to do it for. i did the same thing for confrontation... boy was that a let down. but this is the real deal made by the creative director for s1 and s2. hopefully a steam early access in late march... go check it out

So many clans took FH Terrorists just so they could camp with the hostages. One of my favorite wars involved this map. The enemy was FLA, and they claimed they never lost FH Terrorists. So, like so many others they camped the hostages. We had the lead 5-3 and there was also two draws. It was round 11 so we could not lose. They were not very smart and didn't realize that they could not win. Anyway, they again camped upstairs with the hostages in that last round. My friend just threw a grenade up there and happen to get the Terrorist and none of the hostages. We won the round. In the lobby they flipped the fuck out. We were such cheaters and code9 BS. We laughed. Then we played Requiem Terrorists and won 6-0. We got the bombed planted so fast they couldn't handle our strategy. Next we signed off and made new names and a new clan. Found them and played another 4v4. Kicked their ass again. Of course they took FH, more camping and more losing.

We used to choose Requiem Terrorists as well. With Crossroads as tie breaker we rarely lost. M16 was my preferred weapon, unless it was a laggy map which turned the M16 into a severe handicap. Had to resort to lag-buster guns 😂

Seriously. S2 was the best shooting game, and still is. All the really need to do is update the s2 software into a ps4 game but keep it exactly the same,the game play the game cover, and the name as Socom 2, but for the ps4 that game would sell out fast. Or at least try it n give it chAnce by allowing ppl to rent it and play it online against each other on the ps4 PlayStation store just to c. What their sales would be like if they made it so u could purchase the game. I guarantee, a ton of ppl would buy this game if they could play it online on ps4
