Man I wish I could’ve gotten the thing. I think it needed a servo and lil TLC. You can still find those used I think

@@josefastboats5874 i look just about every week on ebay lol. Ive seen them on there every once in awhile but people want waaaay too much for them. I had one i bought in 2019 and then i had collected brand new sealed parts to build another and i sold it all like a dumbass and i went out of the hobby. That only lasted about 7 months before i got back into it with an xmaxx and while i liked it i also hated how expensive it was and sold it to get a tmaxx classic and ive decked that out now and just got a revo 3.3 used im going to be fixing up as well. A savage is one ive never owned but i feel like once i get done building the revo ill get the savage 4.6. Fuck electrics lol

I feel the same as you do. Have lots of electricrc cars to in my collection,but only use my nitros outside both bashing and racing. Find electric very boring,but its good for racing inside in the winter. I dont care that electrics are faster,its more than enough power in a good nitro engine. And much more driveable.

i had one of the original savage 21 when they were first released. And ive had a nitro savage ever since, and still run my 4.6. great trucks and a great design. When they first came out the tvp was pretty amazing. especially compared to the t maxx etc.

They just gave it to you? New body looks wicked. And seems like heaps of the old upgrades will fit, wheelie bar, engine flywheel brake, led receiver battery monitor, electric start, three speed gearbox, full metal brake disc. The savage is pure awesomeness! The only problem I had with my old one was the pull start one way bearings and ripping diffs apart from doing backflips. And motor started to leak, I lost the rebuild shims so it’s just been sitting on the shelf. Time to dust it off, maybe a new motor and the better diffs and dog bones from the new one yeeew🤘

i got my savage back in 2010 never even started the motor got a $100 credit swapped in a novarosi.28 with a ths pipe . tossed the 2 speed and got the 3 speed with robinson racing gears and carbon fiber brakes . stock shocks toss for proline 5 inch threaded shocks . upgrade to rpm x wide a arms and ajustable upper , best tire i got was proline x wide 40 series h pin . servo lasted 3 months upgraded all to jr racing with 2.4 radio . swapped out side plates to carbon fiber xxl . put a grave digger body on it . with all that said and done price was $900 . happy to see it back but witha $800 start price

What happened to nitro? I haven’t been into RC for a few years, adulting sucks. Went to my LHS, (Graves in Orlando) to buy my nephew a 1/16 Revo for Christmas and didn’t see any Savages. I lived in that shop back in the day. I always loved the ritual of nitro. There’s very little better than a 3 speed savage for the type of buffoonery I was into back then.

I think if hpi would get rid of the maverick line up and focus on this 1/8 savage both nitro and brushless and redesign the jumphot series to a 4x4 platform to compete with the granite 4x4 and the rival mt10 and traxxas 1/10 4x4 lineup and price them accordingly they would be golden. Also if you don't mind me asking what did this set you back $$?? I'm in the U.S.

Listen I love the Savage. I just pestered HRP to sell me a Savage X 4.6 that was sitting in a warehouse for 2 years. It was $499, HRP has a $30 off coupon on their home page and they didn’t charge me sales tax so all, out the door I got it for $470. Now how can they expect any sane person to buy the new one for $709??? And the Flux for $769??? I could buy an Outcast or Talion EXP for $749 And I could buy an E-Revo 2.0 for what $650 and with the difference buy batteries. HPI has to rethink the price point on this or they’re not going to sell a lot. I emailed them and HRP begging them to reconsider based off the Comps

I love the savage. I have run savage's forever from the 21,25, x4.6 xl5.9 right through to the flux and even have a couple of twinzilla's and enough spares to build a few more trucks🤣 but it's great to see it back and it looks to be mechanically compatible with previous models which means more spares😆👍👍 only thing I have to say about the new model is that it's probably the ugliest rc body I have ever seen🤣🤣 what were you thinking of hpi??😂
